Has anyone had any experience with an Apollo FX 5 Watt Luxeon Star Flashlight? I purchased one off eBay a week ago and ran it for about 15 minutes and the head of the flashlight began to become very, very hot, so I decide to turn it off, and when I tried to turn it back on it did not work. The only thing that would come on was one section of the Luxeon, barley producing any light. I am in the process of getting a replacement, but was wonder what anyone thought about this lights. Also was wondering about the Inova X03's. I like to explore caves, and thats the main use my flashlights see. Any suggestions on good flashlights for caves?

Currently I own:

1 Watt Brinkmann Headlamp
Black Diamond ZenixIQ HyperBright LED Headlamp
1 Watt Dorcey Metal Gear
Broken Apollo FX 5 Watt

Have you chanced upon the Electroluminescents/Headlamps/Hybrids thread yet? They discuss a barrage of headlamps and for caving. There's the StenLight, PT Apex, HDS, NiteRider Moab/Flight among others. . .

Check it out and hope you find what you are looking for. . .

Caving is the WORST environment I have ever put a light through.
HA coating is no match for rocks and mud in caving.
I have found that "plastic" lights work beest.
My Primary hand light is currently the Streamlight Propolymer 3C Luxeon.
Might be replaced by my new SL 4AA Luxeon though.
UK 4AA LED is my backup light, 10 hour runtime !
Headlamp is the Stenlight S7, it rocks!

Here are my reviews of the lights...
