This was the warning given on June 21, 2018

Now, I do need to warn everyone...

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

On July 1st of this year, there will a price increase at HDS. All models will increase approximately...
Sit down...
Take a deep breath...
5%

The reason being, cost have increased (a lot more than 5%) over the last 4 years. The last price increase was August 2014 (and that one was substantial).
Basically, there will be a $15 price increase on all lights. Put in perspective, that is the same price the lights were in 2014 dollars (well, 60 cents more on base models and about a couple bucks less on the higher priced ones, but we want to keep even numbers). $249 2014 dollars is $263.40 2018 dollars. $299 2014 dollars is $316.29 2018 dollars... according to the inflation calculator. Our costs have increased more than that, but we don't like raising prices.

Let the teeth gnashing begin.

I wanted to give everyone a heads up in case anyone was sitting on the fence, and $15 is $15.

On the positive side, your used lights are going up in value...

I'm on a lot right now because I want to make sure everyone has their questions answered before the 6th.
I realize some don't check in very often, which they might regret after the 6th, and it can be a bit daunting as in a very short amount of time, there have been several pages added here. While I dislike having to repeat things that were posted a week or more ago, I understand it.

I do try to post as soon as I know things. The price increase wasn't officially decided upon until... June 21. When the titanium was finally decided on, I posted an hour after. You guys are pretty much getting things in real time. It has to do with my "marketing" strategy. I want you all to feel you have some say in the direction the company takes and feel a part of this adventure.

I think you have been doing a great job Hogo and I'm sure we all appreciate everything you are doing. I feel that you are helping Henry and us tremendously.
Things seem to be going more smoothly, you are tailoring to us, the long waits are shorter, etc, etc

It's also great that you are very active here in the HDS community, i think that alone is a great part of the HDS experience:thumbsup:

One last thing, about Friday, many people interested live overseas, how will that effect you guys correlating with Arizona time? Is that going to be an issue or will it not be so bad. I'd hate to see some of you miss out on this opportunity because of the time difference. Hopefully time difference won't be an issue. Being Friday/weekend, you will have to stay up late
In General it is not as easy to get limited goods from Overseas. There are the different time zones, and at least the latency of the Internet accessing a Server on a different continent is also higher…. I do not think I will be fast enough getting a TI light. 40 is not a big number and it seems the demand is high.

But I will not complain. Maybe later if someone is bored from the Ti Rotary I may get one here at CPF...??? And if not life goes on. :)

No it's definitely not just 15$ increase of the price!

I visit HDS website almost every single day and the price was for custom rotary xpg normal lens ( I just keep the website page as it is ) and the price was 279$??

Now it is more 330$ + 15 for shipping 345$!!

This is probably true, was definitely true for me, but I started raising funds immediately when Hogo announced the drop. He gave us over a week's leadtime to prepare. But I really do hope that everyone who wants one, and can swing the price, is able to grab one. I'd be pretty sad if there were a lot of us who have the money and were prepared for the drop, but missed out just cause we couldn't get to a computer right at the stated time. I'll be really sad if that's me... :)

That is true but takes most of us a little longer then a week to come up with $1000! I'm not going to cry over it if do get one it will just have to be down the road a ways.

100 posts on tint today alone... you guys are nerds. LOL

I can't remotely keep up with all these numbers and codes. Remember the good old days where we just argued about whether the lights should have clips or not? ;)

Was just thinking the same thing now it seems most users are more concerned about how red a lego looks or if a bush is green. Lol.

[emoji3]Good news first, I have just had confirmation that my HDS groupbuy lights and custom Thor's Hammer leather pouch has arrived at the post office. Now the [emoji35]bad news I have got to pay £139.38 customs charges. If I am lucky enough to score a Titanium Rotary I wonder what the import duty will be on that[emoji50]

I just scored a Rotary HCRI 200 Nichia 219b from the marketplace to go with my 2013 limited edition Illumination Supply HDS Clicky HCRI 140 with a Nichia. It will be nice to have a rotary back in my collection!

I ve not seen the 4500 in real use and the photos I ve seen have now confused me... so begs the question for the flagship of the flagship line, 5700 or 4500? I hate anything cool but too warm is not appealing for me either. I m definitely a neutral guy that wants a nice color. So the other question is brightness and throw between the b 4500 and the c 5700?
By the way, I have surroundings of industry, gray shed buildings, warehouses and lots of trees and grass however I do plan to relocate where there is lots of trees, grass, critters, and no sheds except for the wooden ones we call barns!

I have come to this conclusion. A high CRI emitter is a high CRI emitter. What I am selecting is the tint which may help render certain colors better. The b4500 R9080 will have a slight rosy tint and may render reds a little better; the b4000 R9050 has a slight tan tint and renders wood and tree trunks better; the c5700 has a slight yellow tint and may render yellows a little better.

You might wanna change countries!

My ancestors left that country a few hundred years ago because they were tired of that crap back then!

This is exactly why I joined CPF after lurking for so long here on the HDS Systems Forum. Once I saw that you were more active on here and you were influencing Henry more and more, I knew I had to join! Hogo, you're doing an amazing job helping this company. I appreciate the real time updates and look forward to the epic things you guys have planned for the future. I can tell that 2018 is just the beginning of the adventure...

I have wanted to emigrate for years but my partner would not want to leave her mum here. I am now coming up to 46 years of age so I think it's too late now as the likes of the US, Canada or Australia probably wouldn't want an old electrician.

If you link to the custom page from the home page, the settings default to rotary and sapphire. If you get to the custom page by way of products, the default settings are executive and glass. I believe this is the source of the confusion. Just make your selection carefully.
