So thrunite sent me a new clip that is exactly like the old one so I still can't attach it. I emailed them again and now I'm fairly sure the service department has never handled one of the lights.
So they are sending me a replacement clip...the issue is with the threads in the body being stripped. Anyone else with a stripped thread hole get a replacement clip? Is it a different style or what?
Amazon prices are a roller coaster. IMO well worth the money. I like it better than the TLR-1s though simply due to it being true ambidextrous (tlr has controls on both sides but the toggle goes in opposite directions).

They are 100$ now but Amazon says more on the way which usually means it's a current item. I bought the light because I wanted fewer lumens so the light wouldn't be as blinding if I woke up in the middle of the night, the throw was not a factor...

The Chinese lights like thrunite and olight cost about the same or more than most of the Maglite products I'm seeing. And a 10$ difference hardly covers the cost Maglite pays to operate in over regulated California.
