    Show Us Your EDC Folder

Or maybe folks just know how to use a folding knife, and don't use it as a prybar or chisel :ohgeez: Here's a Spyderco Endura and Rescue combo that I EDC'ed for the better part of a decade... They have been resharpened a number of times, and used regularly, but they were also well maintained...

    Lognest throw, tightest beam?

The Dereelight Javelin is a pretty solid thrower for the price, and doesn't have an obscenely large head. You didn't mention what battery type you preferred, but the Javelin is 2xAA, so easy to find replacements. It's not as ultra bright as some of the more exotic battery types, but definitely...

P60 Host Comparisons: Solarforce, Lumensfactory, Dereelight Quick Review and pics!

Thanks for the nice summary and review - I have a pair of the L2R's, and they are solid glove box backup lights for in the car. I even don't feel too bad about storing them long time with batteries in them, because they are pretty cheap lights and I won't cry if there is corrosion. :D

    DEFT-High Output Got Lux?

Sounds awesome - I love my FTP, and if I had the spare cash I'd jump on the higher output version in a second. Looking forward to the beamshots!

This is my primary EDC folder, since it's the most recently purchased, but there are a bunch more that make their ways into my pockets on a regular basis. Spyderco Sage I

How are You Using your Headlamps?

I use my headlamps constantly - while working around camp while camping or backpacking, rock climbing after the sun goes down and temperatures cool off, working under cars or in electrical boxes, closets, crawlspaces, and other tight places. Pretty much any task where I'm using my hands to...

Wolf Eyes Krait: aspherical lens spot to flood flashlight!

Very interesting - a flood to throw aspheric would definitely fill a gap in my current small stable of lights. A 2xCR123 version would be the hotness.

Are these lights getting too complicated?

I'm also a big fan of simple UI's. I like the tail button + bezel twist combo, but my ideal would go like this: Bezel tightened: high. That's it, one mode Bezel loose: cycle through moonlight, low, med, and I guess the stupid strobes if you have to include them. Default to low. That way...

The Real Reason for Throw - an in depth examination

Re: The Real Reason for Throw-an in depth examination I definitely agree with some other posters that as specific as possible a definition of throw is needed to help clarify what you mean. As its simplest, higher lux at a given distance equates to better throw, but from a subjective point of...

    Dereelight Javelin

One of the tailcaps on the javelins I bought for my dad and brother was WAY tight from the factory - we had to use a pair of snap ring pliers to get it to twist out. There's no way we could have done it with a paperclip or similar type of improvised tool. Even with the snap ring pliers, it was...

World's longest throwing LED Flashlight- FTP the affordable DEFT

After how blown away I am by the the full sized DEFT, I would buy a mini DEFT in a heartbeat, sight unseen with no specs. I trust you to create an awesome light :D:paypal:

    Why the maglite hate?

I've hung onto a few of them that I bought over a decade ago, but I won't really use them in their current form. Basically keeping them for something to mod when I get the itch one day. The 5D should be a fun platform to make something cool out of

How about a few glamor shots of the DEFT? :naughty:

Why is there even a reverse clicky?

I prefer reverse clicky for changing modes, too, FWIW.

World's longest throwing LED Flashlight- FTP the affordable DEFT

Just opened up the box containing my DEFT FTP..... THIS THING RULES :bow: I have bought a few pocketable, halfway decent throwers, but the DEFT blows them out of the water. I've never owned anything of this caliber that didn't plug into a cigarette lighter. The DEFT is truly a...
