Re: More new Eagletacs with the new dual button UI and the built in diffuser!
Exactly! EagleTac and their interface is losing me fast. Hold the side button, stick your tongue out, stand on one leg, and then press the rear switch to enter the mode that most lights start on...low. Ridiculous.
Thank you for the great review! I believe the 1000L rating is the cool white version and typically the NW variants will be slightly less. I have one of these on order and look forward to another Nitecore NW light to my arsenal.
That was just a quick observation knowing many on the backlits stay on and reading max .7A x 4. My point.... I think your assessment of much much better is a bit over the top for a charger that has little known about longevity and is the same basic "looking" charger with the potential problem...
Both my Accupowers are running flawless for 3 years now and I would still recommend them myself. That Opus looks like a very good option, if you don't mind seeing backlit glowing 24/7 (as most will do). But not so fast on the "better" part. They stripped out the high 1amp charge and turned it...
Re: Nitecore EA41
And there is the problem for the 41 with me. You run into that extra mode everytime you are trying to get to your preferred mode (if you step up one mode)....just more clicks and frustration with interface IMO.
Re: Just opened a new pack of old stock 2008 vitange eneloop. Still had a full charge
Best deal on made in Japan Eneloops are Amazon Basic AA's 8 pack for $15.98
These appear to be Gen 2 or 3 made in Japan, same specs, same measurments, they test out exactly the same and only difference is...
I am saying that carrying them in aluminum or other metal air tight containers could be dangerous if there is a wrapper nick that went undetected. You could insulate the positive end to prevent the possibility, or rely on the fact you have thoroughly checked the wrapper everytime you put it in...
Love AA's with Eneloops and always looking for good AA lights. AA and 18650 is all I run now, and since all the world runs on AA, remotes, weather stations, motion LED lights I have setup in bathrooms and hallways, mice....ect you really cant get away from them. Prob. have near 100 AA...
This. If you are carrying in an airtight aluminum container then you effectively have a small bomb in your pocket with a short. That wrapper thickness is about .005 and you are assuming everything is perfectly round which they are not.
Yes, mine are all neutral white with no colors. Best seen about 3 inches from wall where each cell can be isolated and compared on L-1 and L2. Higher modes you just see stars from blinding yourself LOL.
No, it is whiter then the pic shows...I used a flash. It was advertised and sold as white OLED and that is just what it is. Not sure why so many dispute this? They made the change when the first started shipping the XML2 version possibly to tell those apart. Then after the old versions were sold...
