I've been using the MH-C800S to charge my Eneloop (and other)cells with excellent results. I just pulled 4 AA Eneloop cells off this charger, let them sit for 15 min, and they all tested 1.45V on a multimeter.[cc/QUOTE]

Coppertail ; Thanks for your reply,so far you"s is the only one posted. I also need a fast 2 0r 4 cell chrger/battery combination .I see several of the well known battery manufacturers offer them.I would welcome opinions as to which company is best in 15 minute or one hour models.

Do you need a "travel charger", or one that's not so portable?

Powerex 2300 on BC-900 @ 500ma (test mode):

2.34
2.40
2.37
2.37

These were previously charged on the M800D, as it always gave my cells a bit more capacity.

These are over 2 years old with less then 50 cycles on them.

I was wondering what tools you guys are using to get the specs on your batteries. I recently got into testing my batteries and was looking for a good battery tester/voltmeter.

I would like a tool with battery testing capabilities that could also give me a voltage reading.

I prefer a digital display.

What are fellow CPF users using?

I use a standard Digital Multimeter to test voltage (I believe there are other tests you can do with a multimeter, I just haven't figured how to do them :)

I use a ZTS battery tester to determine the appx. capacity of my cells.

I have 4 of them but didn't waste my time since shelf life is terrible with these.

Also I didn't charge the AAA and AA batteries that came with the charger yet. Have more batteries then I need right now.

After I charged them I stuck a label on them with the date and current mAh rating. That will give me something to compare with on future charges.

The best tool I have is BC-900 (which I would do a test on which does (charge-discharge-charge cycle) and give you voltage and mAh on a battery being tested.
I use a simple DMM for voltage measurement to gauge if I need to top off batteries before using them.
I also use single cell incan cheapo flashlights for draining batteries.
Dumb charger helps bring up the batteries when sometime batteries are discharged too low to be recognized by BC-900.

Results for Eneloop AAs:

Eneloop_2000.gif

The initial capacity (measured @ 400 mA discharge rate) and initial voltage were as measured straight out of the package. I'm impressed how closely the cells match. 1-4 are from one pack, 5-8 from another. Capacity was measured using the break-in cycle of the MH-C9000 with capacity set for 2000 mAh.
