always looked at these (being an ex free-lance camera guy), but too many pockets--I can't even keep track of my keys/lights/knives/digital now ...

I use a three pocket fleece or Pendleton Berber vest in the winter when I need it--warm weather I switch over to a French mil-surplus vest in olive cotton that has four big secure pockets and i'm a happy boy ...

of course, I'm usually wearing carhartts so I have a few extra pockets /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

supplemented with the tool fanny pack (single compartment) for items which might make me appear deformed to the casual observor /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Domke makes a jacket with zip-off sleves, so it converts into a vest. I find it more comfortable than their vest, especially with a heavy load, but the vest is better in hot weather, since it has a mesh back. The jacket also looks less like a gun cover, but I am not sure why.

i recommend royal robbins 511 vest, best vest money can buy.

I tried scott evest, that material is fragile and not durable.
