HDS Systems #23

Great beam shot neco! Do you like the tint/color rendering of the 3500 or the 3700 better? I had a 3700 at one point - even spent the time and $ to convert it from a clicky to rotary - but it was very green at low levels so I eventually sold it.

Thanks lion504. I bought the 3700 while waiting a year for the NB35 and really liked it during that time. I also thought about converting it to rotary since I liked it so much. But after receiving the 3500 it's gets less use. I didn't notice any green tint for the 3700 but oddly I find the temp of the 3700 to be warmer than the 3500. 3700 is more golden and warm while the 3500 reminds me of an off white cream color, like vanilla ice cream. The overall feeling of the 3500 is very nice.

*edited color of 3700 as more golden rather than orange*

I also have a NB30-NB35-NB40-NB45 compare :D

When I see this compare than I must ask myself why the NB27 is not shipped yet :yellowlaugh::rant::yellowlaugh::rant::yellowlaugh::rant:The compare is incomplete and therefore useless without NB27 ;)

The Ti Rotary, if I remember correctly there were 40-50 People interested. In the pre sale there were than 30-40 directly sold. The remaining ones than later.
At least that is what I habe in mind. In total there are 70 Rotaries. The Bronze 21 and Brass were 42...

I see PSM was asking for Ti Clickies. I did not recognized that Clickies...

Does anyone have any beam shots of the SDV30 vs. NB35, NB40 or NB27? I have seen lots of comparisons between the different Nichia emitters. Just not one with the SDV30 included.
I have a rotary with the SDV30 and a clicky with the NB30. The SDV30 is noticeably warmer than the NB30. The NB30 also has a slightly smaller hot spot. I am seriously considering getting the NB27 or NB35 in my next light.

I have SDV30, NB35 and NB40. NB27 is "in the flow", means I must wait till I have it, order is placed, shipping is in less than 3 weeks if the schedule fits.
Noone except Hogo may have a NB27 since this is a totally new option.

It is right what you are writing. But my SDV30 and NB30 are very close in color. Only the beam geometry is different, and of course the SDV30 is 300lm and NB30 is 180lm or something like that.

If you need a particular compare you may write it down here as wish. When I have time and remember the wish I do the compare. :)

Have to admit I'm intrigued by the 2700k emitter. I read that the 3700k XPG was prized due to its similarity to incandescent. So I got the 3500k emitter for an incan-like experience. Now I realize that 2700k is incan-like. ***face palm***

I've put together quite a few 219b 2700k and 519a 2700k…you definitely have to want to use a beam that warm. I dedomed a 519a 2700k and put it in a P60 host. Your getting close to orange around 1700k

Thanks for the responses. I had totally forgot that the HDS clicky I gave my son on his 17th birthday has an NB40 in it. Man that is a really pleasant neutral colored light. Excellent color rendering as well. I would say the best color rendering of all the lights i have access to. So i have to decide if the NB27 will be to warm, and if the NB35 is to close to the SDV30 . Love this stuff 🤣😂

Man the more I play around with my sons NB40 the more I like it. I think the SDV30 and NB40 would compliment each other well.
I partly blame you and your generosity for my new-found HDS addiction…

In that vein, I ordered an NB30 and an NB40 under the same impression they'd be complementary. Can't wait.

Haaa that's awesome 🤣. I just ordered an NB40. Thinking that they will work very well together.
