Latest greatest 1-18650 thrower?

Looking to purchase an awesome thrower that uses 1- 18650. Any recommendations?

Not the latest. But the Olight M2X-UT which can run on 1x or 2x 18650 Li-Ion batteries would qualify here

+1 on the Olight M2X-UT.
The head is kinda big though, due to the reflector needed for the throw, so might not be pocket friendly, but it comes with a holster

Get the Acebeam T20 - its the latest XP-L HI LED flashlight that is able to throw 1km. Uses only 01 x 18650 battery~
Size wise the head is bigger than the M2X-UT so thats its drawback
Tint is also more towards neutral-warm side

if your willing to go modded. Get Vinhs m25c2vnT with Xpg2 PDTc single mode. 800 lumens and almost 800,000cd For comparison the stock acebeam T20 is around 250kcd.

The head on the these are bigger than I'd like. Looking for something more the size of the Eagletac T20C2 style. Might could go a touch bigger but not much.

I am debating between the Olight M23 and the Nitecore MH27 for a new outdoors light.


The MH27 has a little longer throw MH27 is 462 meters vs the Olight's 436 meters.


The MH27 puts out 53,500 cd vs the Olight's 47,500 cd.


The MH 27 puts out 1,000 lumens vs the Olight's 1,020 lumens.


Assuming that the numbers are to be believed.


The MH27 has a charging port for in flashlight charging and has built in R/G/B LEDs as well.

The Nitecore MH27 has ATR so it uses a temperature based step down where the Olight M23 uses a timed step down.

Well Ace, they mentioned all the ones I would have. However you shot it down due to head size, So I think your thread title is a tad misleading.

Google the BLF D80 and see what you think about the head size. It is sorta in-between others mentioned. Don't let the price fool you. It is a awesome little light. For its price, you could buy one of the above mentioned (awesome) lights and get this as a spare or back up. It is one of my favorite "small" throwers. It carries well in a open top holster with the tail down.

BLF D80 Lucky Sun is a very good option if you are OK with the head size.
I have one in warm white tint and my missus likes the tint over my other expensive lights such as Nitecore TM16 and Olight M2X-UT.
As the above poster mentioned, don't let the $20 group buy price fool you.

If you still prefer slimmer head for a thrower, maybe the Nitecore MH27 suits your need.
You just can't defy the law of physcs if you still require latest greatest thrower but want the package in small reflector

I've got several of the MH27 lights and I'm very happy with them. I did add the 40mm slip on diffuser because sometimes the beam is too narrow.

Since M23 and MH27 were mentioned, Eagletac G25C2 MKII is worth adding to the list.
It is currently my preference in the class of compact throwers with 1.6"/40mm head.
Like it for aesthetics, UI, and availability of XP-L HI neutral white LED option. :thumbsup:
Just need to overcome procrastination and finally order one.

Blf D80 lights rock i have one 5000k tint and one 4000k tint. Both suprisingly focused for dome on xml2

I'll add to the suggestions for the MH-27.
I was just looking for a light, and my requirements were fairly similar to yours. Good thrower on 1x18650, but not one of those ones with the colossal reflectors/heads.
After considering the Olight M-23 and the Nitecore P12GT I went with the MH-27.
The MH-27 has the new XP-L HI V3 diode which is domeless from the factory, which has some advantages over other lights that are "dedomed" like the Vinh mods or the Olight M-23.
That, and the quality on the MH-27 is amazing. All around great light, I highly recommend it.

I concur with royalpig180. My NC MH27 is the go to EDC now over Fenix E35UE and thrunite. Really like the throw and spill, enough for dog walking in the dark of night and checking out the local wildlife.

You can also aim for the new EagleTac S200C2 XP-L 483 meters compact searchlight. bit bigger than G25C2 but simpler to use!
