Re: X65vn2470?!

Vinh,

What is the approximate lumen output of the "TK61vn2070 - WOL Stage 2" option?

My RC40vn40 at 40,000 lumens is pretty bright (as well as being a work of art), but I might be tempted to buy this TK61 mod if it is 80,000 lumens or more.

Now I need a SOT (super output thrower), too.

when 40k lumens just becomes pretty bright you know we have been spoiled by Vinh LMAO

no kidding - the "king" output light only lasted a few weeks.
next - cree will make an impoved XHPsomething we all start all over again

my personal goal is to own
the brightest single 18650 available (mod'ed of course)
the brightest single 26650 available (mod'ed of course)
and what ever RC40vnXXX, TKXXvnXXX that I can afford - these are spendy

Other than Mules none of these lights overlap each other so dont worry.

Re: X65vn2470?!

What is your fav host to work with vinh, not necessarily the one with the potential of highest output. But generally, like the rc40 and x65/tk75 etc for an all rounder. Quality, output, design, build etc...............like an all round package ,do you have a preference out of the big guns.

I could not choose, but to work with kind of thing................the tk75 and rc40 for me seem excellent all rounders. The x65 seems to have a deeper head for heat sink or reflectors, so for throw the x65 would be a good choice imo. The rc40 could be a do it all, maybe the tk75 also...............i cant help think what chunk of heat sinking the x65 would fit in there for a mule though.:naughty:

Maybe mine to vinh, something about it pretty much in every way. Is it going to make a come back.............maybe in mule/crazy format :D I like it being so comfy in hand, little lighter than it should be, design on the head/fins and switches..............

Re: X65vn2470?!

SIXTEEN XHP70s in a TK75?? TWENTY of them in a TK61?? That can't be right is it?

You could certainly get some heat sink in that deep reflector on the 61, i have never been over struck on the design(personal/subjective) though. But it sure has a huge head for mods!

Whats happened over at Fenix, back in 2013 /14 they were on fire..................not much has changed and seems a little more in backward steps than forward LED wise. Still for a solid light, they can hold their own and make great hosts for vinhs magic.

I've only been around for 18 months, but I've seen a steady decline in innovation from Fenix. Not quality thankfully. But the TK61 and 75 were ( or seemed to be to me) the lights that were so good everyone followed them. If a new light came out, it was always compared to these lights for performance. Then they started coming up with safe designs and safer emitter choices. Now, in 2017, the TK75 is still their best known light and despite a few tweaks it's 4 years old. They've been passed in performance by just about everyone else.

I think I just repeated what Mark said, so I could have just said +1. [emoji38]

Re: X65vn2470?!

As the pd35 was the bench mark for a single 18650 light for so long, still holds its own today! The tk75 was and still is today imo.................i love thrunite a lot, they have come on nicely and produce a high quality light. Still, given the choice of host out of a tn40 or tk75, the latter wins out for me. Acebeam have come on nicely to, so good lights and pushing the boundaries. Thanks to thrunite and acebeam really, where we are at today and giving vinh the template for his master pieces. Fenix...........well i have said several times now, kind of left behind. Their tk75 2015 should have had xpl HI's in, couple of options with 4000 and 5000k. I know they aim or seem to be aiming more to general public(thats where the money is and if it works who am i to say different). I did suggest more of a specialist range for them, rc40 with xhp's or xpl HI's etc. Still who cares, even then they dont have the drivers that vinh has, his fastidious work with each and every light built with pride......................not on a production line with off centred LED's and stevie wonder on QC..............as some manufacturers seem to employ.

I digress, thank god for vinh! Not only a great all round guy, our own personal genius too;)

I really like this way vinh is going, manufacturers(couple i have mentioned anyway) are not leaving much room for improvement other than drivers and heat sinking(in some cases anyway, rc40 is good enough mostly). But choice's and variety of! just are not viable from manufacturers interested on fast sellers with beam pics took on a 15m exposure j/k but you know what i mean. But to where vinh seems to be going, big guns with crazy outputs............after all thats what v54 is about, not just pushing boundaries, but taking them and destroying them. For those who want run time or less heat issues...................dial it down with a lower % mode/out put=win win for all.

Enough of my waffle:eek:

Well said. Fenix certainly are still the benchmark for quality in these Chinese high end lights. There's a reason why, if given two equal lights, Vinh always seems to find the Fenix just a little more equal than the competitor! [emoji16]

A well made light with output that is unrealised is a modder's dream. [emoji4]

Their philosophy of 130kcd (ish) is as far as we can naturally see is there reason for not designing something that can go any further in distance. They base this with the idea of
.25 lux on a target. Imo this is faulty and the standard should change in general to at least 1 lux on a target. I view them in that they are like Apple. They tell you what you think you should know about the product and you don't need certain things. They know that people want a new dedicated thrower in the form of the TK61 but they may not make one since I guess the TK61 didn't sell very well. All they need to do minimum is change the led to an xpl. That would open the door for lots of modding.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's faulty logic unless I'm mistaken whenever it's daytime and I look at the horizon! [emoji38]

In addition, I've made the point before, if I want to see something at 400ms, I'll see it better with a 500kcd light than with 130.

Did the TK61 not sell well? They obviously never put 20 quad LEDs in it! Should be very impressive! Can't wait. [emoji4]

Vinh is like Houdini and Wayne is like Hardini. Wayne is just as good as Vinh only not quite as handsome nor blessed with the suave sophistication of his more famous twin. So if Wayne is ever to escape the cold darkness of the great shadow cast by his family's chosen one he must surely set out on his own... a pilgrimage to first find himself and then an In-N-Out Burger. Then he will head on home because Vinh might wanna make a video and Bella won't hold still long enough for the Go-Pro to focus.
