Re: The Lounge

Hey guys!
Just wanted to stop in and say hi to my flashlight brew!
Hope you all are doing awesome.
Took the K40vn fl out last night spotting jack rabbits. The bunnies were stunned by the throw :)
Literally they would just freeze when you lit them up.
Ty

It's very hard to argue with those choices. The X60vn is my favorite followed TK75vn KT then k40vn.

Hey Ty! What's up!

My fav without a doubt is the m43vn with s3 3d dome on. Just a tad thick for pocket carry if it did have one downfall but it's not really a relevant gripe when camping as I use the holster and the power to size ratio is awesome. If they could cut this light in half so to speak and turn it into a 2 cell, 6 emitter setup that was less than 1 inch thick, that would be the perfect all purpose light. Maybe I'll machine something up and have vinh wire up up lol.

Vinh! Have you ever played with any of the drivervn's in your xml2 tk75vns for more output than your standard version? IE could you possibly get 4000 to 4500 OTF lumens from one with 3 drivervn's and 3 xml2 u3s?

Re: NEW 26650 Super Thrower :) BTU STR01

Mine is modded as follows: dedomed XP G2 S2 1D on a big maxtoch board / LD1 driver at 5A / all springs bridged / UCLp lens.
It produces 350Kcd with a fully charged Keeppower IMR 26650/4200. (measered at 13 meters)

It's not bad, but the spot is quite large for a dedomed XP G2. I have modded lights with XM L2 that have an (almost) equal spot size (Courui D01 / Maxtoch M12).
And yes, my STR01 does get hot quickly on high.

The best performing single-cell XP G2 reflector light I ever had was a Convoy L2 which produced around 280Kcd (modded by Vinz in South Germany).
And that was without the new LD12 drivers and with a blue Efest IMR 26650 cell........with modern driver and modern cell this could go over 400Kcd.
to bad I sold it to another member of the German flashligh forum

Re: The Lounge

So, bored and in Afghanistan. Bad combo. ;) And I was thinking. Even worse.

Would a X40 be a good match for a X60?

I have only done XHPs with DriverVNX2...Not XML2 yet..
May be be I will do it for the 2105 version. Who knows... :)

XPL HI is my favorite. Nice tint.

Light gets hot fast. Runtime is great on any modes that doesn't overheats.

Re: The Lounge

Hi Ty!
I saw your question in the TX25Cvn thread and thought I would make a suggestion.
I ordered this from Vinh's 30th Birthday sale:

P25LC2vn Diffuser Front + XML2 U4 6500K
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?399923-P25LC2vn-Diffuser-EDC
(Check out the Eagtac link too)
Dimensions
Head Dia. 1 inches (25.4 mm) Body Dia. 0.85 inches (22 mm) Length:4.9 inches (124 mm) Weight 1.9 ounces (54 grams)

It uses a separate LED array for the diffuser. I like that I can go from outdoor use at some distance, and then easily move to the diffuser for indoor use. It's in the mail, so I'm looking forward to trying it out (Thanks Vinh!).
