Hello, newbie here.

I recently heard somebody got a new maglight. He said, it was called the Mag74. Uses 7AA batteries+ a dummy battery. He said, it can also use 3-3xCR123 in it also. Output is over 500 lumens.

This sounds perfect for me, for when I go camping. Use the rechargable batteries I have, then switch to my supply of CR123s.

For the price he paid, it sure beats the Surefire M6 I was interested in buying.

From what I understand, it is a 2D maglite, but the internals are different, as in the bulb.

I wasnt told of where specificly to buy one.

How do I go about buying one?

You can buy the parts and build them yourself. Or, it's sometimes easier to buy a turnkey (TK) unit from someone here on the forum. Try searching the Custom & Modified B/S/T. I know Litho123 sells TK units from time to time.
