I keep both my EDC lights at level 20 (.08) for the min. setting. It's great for around the house with dark adapted eyes. Wonder how long that level lasts? Anyone care to guess?

Hey TG you've inspired me I have an early serial U60 I'm committing to not using for the next month or so to figure how long low will last.

I've set it to level 20 and I've just started the test.

Since this is a test of run time and not brightness It shouldn't matter but I'll mention this HDS has a Edison opto emitter which is about 2x as bright as the stock Lux so it be about 0.16lms.

14 days straight never off .33LM and still going! just to let everyone know every two days i switch very fast to my secondary setting witch is set to 1.3LM just to make sure it has not stepped down :twothumbs

16 days my Friends and still going! if you used this light for 6hs a day in an emergency situation it would last you 'so far' 64 days WOW!

Very interesting - the new Twisty is listed as running for "only" one week at the same light output you are testing at. Yet, it's hard to imagine the new light being less efficient (have to wait till they ship in January to find out)

Henry is like Surefire when he rates things. It's the worst case scenario. He probably took the crappiest LED he had and the worst driver he had to get that rating.

I agree tebore.Hds lists 10 days run time at .33 an I'm at 17 already! thats why i started this test.Now i will know exactly how long i can count on my trusty u60

And that is a huge part of why it's easy to be optimistic about his creations :thumbsup:

I've got a rugged twisty on pre-order and will attempt a similar test when it arrives. The challenge will be finding a way to compare or measure the light output to determine when it steps down as the battery nears the end of it's life.

18 days! i tried max level and it gave me the low battery flash so its almost done but its still holding .33 just fine. Thanks for sticking with me on this i hope when I'm done it might be of some help to you guys.

Well thats it! Light started to blink rapidly and is very dim.So its 19 days straight at .33 LM thanks guys its been fun. If my math is correct at 6 hrs a day thats enough light for 76 days gotta love them hds:twothumbs
