New years around the corner, still no P7 from Fenix?

I would have been happy with only 600 or so lumen...affordable. We are all stuck with these wimpy 200~300 lumen lights. Fenix...you really are letting us down this Christmass

There may not be enough quality P7's around to fill the demand Fenix would have for them. Fenix probably will skip the P7 and go with the Cree MC-E, but only when there are sufficient quantities available.

Fenix does not seem to want to use any SSC product, only Cree. So I would expect a MC-E light long before a P7.

:sigh:, thats a shame. I would have loved to seen an alternative/competition to the Wolf-Eyes P7 Sniper. Why are there so many MC-E lights coming so quickly given the short period of time that the MC-E has been on the market yet the P7 has been around like forever and so little choice in the quality market segment.

It sounds like the MC-E is a superior product to the P7. Some flashlight makers tried the P7 and just were not happy with the results.

I guess depends on the application. I can see that the MC-E requires less effort to retrofit existing models (though I don't think that it will function optimally in such a config) and offers more throw. However, from my limited research the P7 would have been a better choice for a nice flood light (e.g. lighting up work).

Would be nice to see Fenix at least make a short run of MC-E or P7 models and sell them as "Limited/Premium" ...especially around X-mas...

how bout fenix coming up with some sort of decent thrower? something to compete with DBS or something....

better yet, a MCE based thrower...

I think to some manner this is a good thing, out with the blue tints:shrug:
besides, CREE's are easier to work with without squashing domes whenever its dropped or prodded by a foreign object

Mmmmmmm
An old 19mm body P1-CE with a MC-E.

Thanks to the LiMN cell, this is 100% possible

I'll be warming up the Paypal for it..

Simple reason is that there just aren't any good reflectors/optics for these multi-dye emitters.

Fenix will not make lights which will not provide any significant advantage or usable beam profiles, when their current lineup is already doing perfectly well.
