I need a work light (possibly 12 volt) with three or more 30-degree reflectors (Ledil boom medium???) and SSC P7’s or MC-E’s or maybe a quad die XP-G???

I need a thousand lumens with a 1-foot wide beam at 2ft distance and maybe 4 or 5 ft at 20 ft.

It should be waterproof for use on my bike as well as other work areas than my drawing board.

I thought of using a solar force L950m torch, but the beam would be too tight for a work light. And I would need an external battery pack to last 6 to 8 hours.

‘Nite Rider’ bike lights might work but I can’t pay over $150. I don’t need the computerized light modes although I would like a low enough setting to read by.

Apparently the large festoon bulbs are only good for multi directional lighting.

I really need help finding this ….I don’t get enough time on the net and don’t know what I am looking for. Help!

building one could be an option if I coud find out how.

Someone here recently pointed me towards Vision X. They've got several LED lights aimed for off-road vehicles that might suit your needs.

I've ordered a pair of the Solstice Solo models to use as motorcycle fork lights. 800 lumens from 10 watts. They offer a 'spot' beam that is probably about 6 degrees wide.

They don't say what LED vision x uses . And they can't make a dission about the lumins....800 or 900.

I need one of these with an XP-G QUAD.

You have a long wait ahead of you.

Maybe try building a mag with 5 or 6 XR-Es at 1A with some wide angle reflectors/optics? This could run over $100 though. A 4C mag with Download's Multisink, 6 XR-Es, some 17mm or smaller reflectors, 3 18650s and 2 resistors would work well.

The solarforce head with some scotch tape will give you a more diffuse beam. Solder on an external battery pack.

Well, 6-8 hrs of batt is gonna be "huge" for dual P7's.
If they're running at 10W/ea, accounting for driver losses, that'll be well over 20 of the best 18650 cells at 8 hrs. The cells alone will take up most of your budget.

Try taking out the reflector.
For task lighting, emitters with-out reflectors are an option.
Also, an aspheric lens can be used to tighten up the flood beam and if you have a quality lens you can achieve a flawless flood beam with a continuously adjustable diameter.

For your work light, maybe a unit 2 feet wide with 3 p7's mounted on it, no lens / optic. The width will help eliminate shadows. P7's available $16 at 4seven's clearance, direct drive them off whatever, could you use a wall wart? or a luxdrive from luxeonstar.com led supply. Or put the emitters on a peice of alminum flat stock and use the lid from a waterproof otter box (from batterystation or is it batteryjunction?), silicone the seam and you've got your waterproof work / riding light unit. <$50
