Those rings are captivating...Can you get a shot from ~45 degrees off the beam axis? what does an observer see when you use that light?
I'm wanting to recreate the same effect myself...

(yeah, may get tired of novelty after a few moments, or it may be a useful photographic effect)

We have low cloud , so the night sky is too bright , I took some shots , but way to much bounce back from the city lights . Sorry .

You can see the beam with the naked eye , but the bounce back from the clouds just kills trying to take a picture of the beam from 45deg angle .

Maybe this week end I can go to the park and try for a shot .

Hi! i got an ultrafire wf 502b with an ssc p7. the flashlight is really strong and floody but, i want it to be a thrower. my question is, can an asperic lens do the job or i need to mod the flashlight in order for it to be a thrower.

A P7 is not going to be a great thrower. An aspheric isn't going to look very good either (or work well) since it will be trying to focus 4 separate emitters.

A larger reflector is about all you can do to make a P7 throw any further.
