Re: 4Sevens Preon ReVO Review with OTF Lumens

It is thinner.

I measured the images in photoshop, ignore the measurement you're just looking at the difference - revo is 1.59 vs ld01 1.75.

Pretty sure if you check the specs on the respective websites the revo is specified as smaller too.

do NOT try 10440s with the revo. the current regulated circuit cannot handle the voltage.

Thanks for the warning. Wouldn't want his to be a casualty. Too bad it won't have the iTP/Maratac flexibility.

Neat runtime test :twothumbs

Don't often see "until it's dead", which is useful for this type of light.

It was actually still clinging on, but I just got tired of testing LOL.. something that's interesting though is that I shut it off, and immediately turned it back on after the runtime test, and it actually brightened back up some. Maybe 10 lumens or so. Don't know how quickly it would fall back off though. I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Thanks for the review and runtime chart. Any chance you would be willing to try a runtime on Energizer AAA lithium? I am interested in running lithium in the ReVO and I am curious about the runtime as such.

I'll be doing a run-time test on low when my SS ReVO comes in from Going Gear, along with the new L/M/H iTP 3 mode EOS in Natural!

That would be noble of you for the good of all CPFers. Run time test on low is what most of us avoided as it would take ages to complete, meaning we are left without the light for a while. Thanks!

I'll try to make time this week.

When you get your results, and if you'd like to post a link to your results here, I'll place the link in the first post of this thread.

Thanks so much! It would mean so much to lithium users like myself.

New runtime chart. Man! This light really kicks butt with an Energizer Ultimate Lithium primary:

 Thanks a million ti-force! That is one hell of a runtime with super flat regulation from an AAA sized light. I just can't wait for my stainless one to arrive. Might take another week. :ironic:

Thanks for the graph - very nice runtimes. Now only if Energizer would release 8 packs of the AAA cells for the same price as their 8 packs of AA cells. These cells are great to use in these lights for long runtime.

Re: 4Sevens Preon ReVO Review with OTF Lumens and 140 minute runtime

This Revo with a lithium primary performs almost identically to the Fenix P1, the Luxeon CR123 light of old. The light was rated at 55 lumens and the run time graph is here http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_p1.htm it was talked about as being one of the smallest and lightest of its type at the time.

The Revo is significantly smaller (less than half the volume), the steel version is of the Fenix around 2/3 the weight and the price is lower in absolute figures - not accounting for general inflation over the past few years.

I have an old P1 in the boot of my car so will be pleased to see how this compares! Efficiency has definitely moved on a little.

I would say efficiency has improved quite alot. A small single AAA light matching closely against a CR123 light is pretty damn good.
Try comparing the P1 with another CR123 light, like the 4Sevens Quark123. About double the runtime at 85 lumens.
