Is the LD25 a flop?

I keep checking back every few days for an unboxing.. or a full review.. or beamshots...

but there appears to be little excitement for this light.

Smaller head, less weight, more usable flood, no whine.. it looks like Fenix made the upgrade to the TK20 that people wanted.. and no one seems to care

Is it the R series of LED? The TK45 I bought is hideously green on lower levels... I heard the LD25 suffers from the same, in my opinion, defect.

so yeah... why so little interest in the follow-up to one of the greatest outdoor lights ever made(TK20)

I have the same exact questions as you do. I have the TK 20, and couldn't wait for an xp-g equivalent. The LD25 seems close, but not a whole lot of love for it.

I purchased the LD25. It seems to be a decent 2xAA light with a very decent long running 3 lumen setting on the camping mode. The other setting on the camping mode when you tighten the head is 85 lumens for over 6 hours.

I think that is part of the problem in that overall it is decent. There is nothing really flashy about it. It is a tough light but the TK20 was a tank. However, I think it is great as an emergency back up light. My light does not have such a green tint and is actually quite warm. Not as good as my High CRI Clicky but then not many lights would be. :)

I keep it in my bag as a back up for outdoor use. I will have a place for it in my bag as an emergency back up even when I get the 2xAA tube when it is available for the Clicky.
