Re: WTB:26650 battery sleeve

1" PVC pipe and a 1" paddle bit used at a little bit of an angle to open up the inside. That is what is in my 2D Mag with 2 26650's

If you need a solution ASAP you could wrap the cells with tape until you find a better solution.

Schedule 40 1" pvc is 1.315"OD and 1.029" ID 26mm= 1.023". The pvc I got from Home Depot fit inside my 2D mag like a glove, the 26650 batteries just didn't fit, so the 1" paddle bit when used at an angle back and forth was just enough to bore out the ID of the pvc. The next problem was making something for the battery to make touch the contact on the switch. I used a gallon milk cap and a put a screw through that with a nut on it

Cut the pipe a half inch too short on both sides. Then remove an inch the length of the pipe.

So wait.... Schedule 40 1" pcv fits a D-cell maglite just right? And the ID of that pipe will fit 26650's just right?

Sweet, thinking of switching my maglite from the current 32650's to IMR 26650's.

Sound like the protection circuit is kicking in. I've not had that happen much with LED lights, but back when incan lights were the game that was a common problem, the circuit would trip often long before the actual limit of the cell was reached. Not sure where you got your 32s cdrake but I have see some of those that are rated at a dismal 0.6C.

Set mine to run at 5 amps on high... Figured some IMR's would fix that problem

Re: WTB:26650 battery sleeve

See this pdf for specs on the JM Eagle Schedule 40 PVC conduit. The 1" nominal conduit specs at 1.315" OD and 1.049" ID (26.6mm). Assuming that a 26xxx cell is 26mm diam, your Li-ions should fit in 1" Schedule 40 PVC with no problem. A D Mag tube ID is about 34.15mm, or about 1.344". Thus, Sch 40 PVC conduit should fit nicely in a D Mag tube.
