McGizmo Titanium Clips and Split Rings

When can one buy them? Is there someone that stocks them?

If you want a clip, you have to email Don about it or find one on BST. I don't think anyone stocks those. The split rings can be ordered from some dealers, if I can remember correctly. Try Lighthound, UniqueTitanium, Berkeley Point. Can't recall where I got mine. :thinking:

The titanium clips and split rings are no longer being manufactured. Any inventory available would be in the hands of the dealers who handled these parts.

If you are talking about the pocket/belt clip and screws, you can obtain them from Don. It is the spring clip in titanium that this thread refers, they are very hard to find. I have not found a single one.

Unique Titanium has the 32 mm clip and some other makes of titanium clips. I'm pretty sure the 32 mm is a McGizmo. They also carry the McGizmo SS clips. And they have titanium split rings.

Are there any plans to make the smaller (20mm, for instance) clips in Ti again? With so many new products being made in Titanium now, i have found a lot of people looking for these smaller clips in Ti. Others have started producing the design, but only as small as 26mm.

The source I had for making the Ti clips is no longer there and I failed at finding another source. More and more jewelry and related items are being made from titanium so it wouldn't surprise me if some company fills this demand with titanium clips. Candidly as much as I personally prefer titanium, it is difficult to justify the premium in cost on these small clips when the 316 stainless steel provides comparable if not superior function. The added weight of a stainless clip is hardly noticeable in these small sizes.

I just ordered one of the lanyards with the SS assembly. Also a pocket clip with the 1/4" x 20 hole. Luckily those are still Ti!

Trying to switch out my pocket clips I had an incident.

I literally cannot find a store in this city that has a 1/16" hex driver by itself without spending $20 on a cheap kit that will just break anyway.

FYI- when Don says he tightens the screws to not come off, he means it. And don't use a cheap hex wrench to try.


While at work this evening a crime occurred. There was blood everywhere. (Not really, but there could have been)

Luckily only the wrench was killed

But my thumb did not survive unscathed. Into my thumb it went a half inch.

Lesson learned. Take your time to get the right tools. After all, that's why we all bought a McGizmo.

Oh I've collected my evidence. And bought a thorp hex driver on Amazon. I want to be able to use my new clip and lanyard properly. Right now this is how I'm set up.
