Just wondering to owners, what 18650 you guys are using, seems out of stock on website? im about to buy REV-Captor, but i need batteries and would like to get ones that will fit, charge and work fine on it. Eagletec 18650 3400ma? Onlight? or any other you guys recommend for the REV-Captor?

I'm using EagleTac Protected 3400s. Fits, charges and works fine on the REVCaptor. :)

Just adding this in case anyone has similiar queries. The battery carrier, as in the X40 it is based on should accept most protected batteries without much issues. For what it is worth, the Olight Protected 3400s (which are slightly wider than the EagleTacs) work just fine too.

Thanks Norm and jonwkng for the reply,

Thank for the confirmation, i just wanted to know for sure that what i bought would work, i seen some people say some 18650 are thicker or taller, and since there was not in stock the 18650 with the REV Captor, i just wanted to make sure the one i chose would worked and not have any other issues later on. So eagletec it is, im so excited just ordered my Rev Captor.

Well i ordered the EagleTac upon your experience, thanks for extra. If you were buying new ones exlusivly for the captop only, which do you like more?

Well, that was quick. I hope the REVCaptor meets and exceeds your expectations. :)
Seems like only a few days ago that you were pointed to this thread.

I guess Michael must have been furiously stockpiling a nice reserve of finished lights this time round.
It is indeed a refreshing change compared to the months of waiting for the Deft-X previously. You can't beat almost instant gratification... :twothumbs

Going to take this to PM for the off-topic discussion. Check your inbox. :)

So glad to hear you say that. Your second line was precisely what I was aiming for. I am really eager to get this light into the hands of LEOs as I think this light is perfect for them. Going to be visiting the police station to give them a demo and see what they think. Thanks again for all who have supported.

This light has piqued my interest, I'm rapt in the idea of having a light that would illuminate a yard effectively. I'd love to know how such a light performs during vehicle intercepts, my concern is that so much light might be reflected from the vehicle's exterior, making it more difficult to see what's actually happening inside. I'd very much appreciate it if you'd let us know what other cops think of the light.

Thanks,

Matt

Received my Rev Captor 2 weeks ago and was very impressed with the floody beam and tint. I had fun lighting up my sister's back yard. But I had nothing with me to compare it to. Well, I'm back in Switzerland and last night I compared it to my Malkoff WildCat V5 with the MTG2 emitter. The Rev Captor has a broader, floodier beam and the tint is even more neutral than the MTG2. I'm not quite sure how to express this, but the shadows are less sharp and more fuzzy and less distracting. The Rev Captor is a real winner. I'm ready to bbq this winter - I will clamp the Rev Captor on tripod and will be able to see everything. Great job, Michael!

You're going to love the REVCaptor as a BBQ light, yoyoman! It is not just the beam spread. The high CRI makes the food look even more appetizing! :p

I'm relaxing with multiple 18650 lights (and single malt) tonight. I don't have many multiple 18650 lights, but that's a story for a different thread. I do have a Rev Captor and a Malkoff WildCat v5. Both are bright, floody to the extreme and have wonderful tints. The Rev Captor's beam is broader than the WildCat, which is no little feat because many users describe the WildCat as a lightbulb on the end of a stick. What really amazed me was something I did by mistake. On High, I pointed the lights down to my feet. The WildCat seemed to have a hotspot compared to the Rev Captor. Not a hot spot like the HoundDog, but the WildCat v5 was brighter in the center of the beam. I'm not sure I'm able to explain this, but even at a short distance and on high, the Rev Captor doesn't have a hot spot. Absolutely amazing.

@ Caddylover, don't be too generous on people you don't like and use the savings for this light. It is amazing. The opposite of the Deft X and having both covers all your needs.

Black Friday came and went  - then zooming by was Cyber Monday and still no sale on a REV Captor  :sigh:.

Me? :broke: NOT to worry (and I'm not beating up on you saabluster - just kidding on ya). I'm way impressed with your innovation and the REV Captor will be my first light purchase of 2015 - might not be until June but I'll be getting one .
