Greetings!
I am currently getting some gear ready for work and have helmet mount gear en route for my PVS-7. I will also be running an old PAQ-4c on my rifle. I would like to get an IR illuminator to help see out far. I am not sure if I should just get new parts to upgrade a current flashlight or purchase a new IR light. I would most likely be using it with my rifle, but having something handheld seems nice too (or if it can be thrown into a quick-release mount would be even better).

Here are the lights I currently own.

Surefire scout M600 in Larue mount on my rifle
Surefire DSF-870
Surefire G2 on my duty belt (currently has a red flip filter on it)
Streamlight ProTac-HL
Pelican 7060LED
Streamlight Scorpion (with rubberized grip) don't know what exact model/bulb

I am open to all suggestions. I have searched the forum a bit and see there are several routes to go, I just don't know which will be the best.

Thanks!

I suggest a laser that has a focus ring if you check Amazon search IR laser the good thing about a laser that's focus capable is it throws the beam over long distance with the camera on you can see the emission and adjust the focus to a pin dot or open it up to cover a whole object. Second best for distance would be to buy an IR led and install it into a zoomable flashlight. Both are fairly inexpensive the laser can be purchased as a module that can be mounted into a small flashlight host

I have a streamlight tlr-1 IR that throws surprisingly far. It easily illuminated a feeder around 120 yards away through a PVS14.

And I forgot to mention, I also have a Sure FM63 filter.
