I guess I'll start this topic.
Who likes the updated forum? I do!! Very mobile friendly. Honestly I'm just posting this to test the features out but might as well start getting everyone's thoughts.

Not sure where to best place this, sorry for any add to the Chaos, I for some reason cannot go to the home page on Firefox. Shouldn't be on my end of things, I can get elsewhere via pasting a chrome link to a more specific sub-forum, but the home page seemingly is stuck on a rapid-reload on a blank white screen. (I promise I ACTUALLY did the whole "turn it off and on again thing" to no avail...)

Thanks and good luck! Looking forwards to seeing where this goes.

edit: cleared mine up, I'm not sure if it was on my end or not but I had to clear my cache and cookies for another problem. FWIW

As a person with autism, its always very difficult for me to accept and adapt to new situations. The change to a new design came as a shock to me, and of cause the first question in my mind was "why the hell would they redesign the website, is was perfect the way is was!". I guess this has to do with the new server/software the site has migrated to? If it hasn't I would actually really like an answer to that question.

One good thing is that now I can highlight text with my cursor and delete it at at once, which was not possible before (for some reason).

I really want to reply and be say it was to annoy folks, however that wouldn't be accurate. The software CPF was on was end of life approximately 8+ years ago. While yes it worked, it wasn't secure, getting new fixes, and not compatible with newer server setups.

I think this is pretty close to the old format, it'll take a bit of touchups here and there. I think some CSS-massaging will be able to help some gripes over time. Definitely time we are on a more secure platform, we had so many issues in the past 2 years!

I would like my old CPF smiley faces back though, that might make me revolt! These little touchups take time of course.

They just changed ALL of the exit numbers in my area, and pretty much left out all the "old exit ##" signs..... now THAT'S a real PITA!

BTW, my issue was solved RE Firefox, so thanks!

Oh yeah! Where's my :takeit: and :PayPal: icons? It always gave me a rush when I was able to reply :takeit: before anyone else could.

Also when quoting someone, I noticed that highlighted text has the same highlight color as the quote field, so at first I thought I couldn't select and remove parts of the quoted text.

EOL platforms are definitely a thing in my industry - still dealing with access-network chassis going on 25 years old that should have been retired >10 years ago. But they keep on chooching and mercifully just work at layer 2.

I think the new format is very mobile friendly. Miss the old front page, it was convenient, but with this new platform attaching files is simple now.. And, Jelly seems like a pretty cool person. So, what's not to like?

I used the mobile app primarily before but this is very mobile friendly so it's not too jarring. Alls I need now is my Ban Hammer and I'm ready to go. Hahahaha
