I think the TH20 got released in 2016. That's 5 years ago. I'm happy to use it for another 5 years, no problem, but surely some brightness/runtime gains have been made in this time, right?

For the record: I use it for work and I am super happy with it! (It's reliable, has not failed me once despite 3 years of frequent use in all kinds of conditions. UI is fool proof, which is what I badly need at work. And it's small, which is also important for me. Beam quality / spill is just what I need and while the tint is not actually great, that's a non-issue compared to how well this light has served me and considering what I use it for).

So - are there any newer lights out there that are similar in terms of form factor and UI? Or should I just check back in 5 years and hopefully ThruNite will have a new version by then? :)

Thanks. Didn't cross my mind to reach out to them, I just assumed someone here surely has a fortune telling crystal ball!

You reminded me that I have the TH20 on my wish-list, but I am not sure I want the cold white variant.
I told them I am after a high-CRI, warm white headlamp  Anyway, now we know.

I have the cool white in mine and I think that might have been the only one available at the time. I'm not bothered by the cool white, but when you test it on a white wall the tint itself looks a little bit green in the centre and a little bit purple on the outside. So hopefully on top of better runtime or brightness they will improve this next time around, more uniformed tint with no variation, etc. Like I mentioned earlier, it's currently a complete non issue for me when I'm using it for work, so really a small compromise given how I like everything else about the light!

The only improvement they could make to the TH20 would be high CRI...its pretty close to perfect as it is for me though.

Thanks to the OP for highlighting this and good to know. I, too, was looking at picking up the TH20 but was stalling to see if there was to be upgraded version. It's too bad there doesn't seem to be much innovation on AA lights as focus seems to have shifted to 18650, 21700 and rechargeable lights.

I went with the Fenix HM23 because I like the UI better, and the color rendition is very good. I'm very happy with it.
