Problem with SL Survivior LED & my solution. Update: SL has a fix for these

Re: Problem with SL Survivior LED & possible solution. I believe the entire battery carrier slides away from the spring contact; after I shake mine, it stays off and do not turn back on. How do you think streamlight be able to get to the circuit board? Snap off the black reflector cover? I...

    using recharge cr123a

Are you serious about "basically have no self-discharge"? That would be a major selling point to me using the CR123As; I'm okay with short runtime if I can recharge it and there is little self-discharge! :)

    Streamlight LED Survivor

The LED Survivor at $40 would be fantastic! I prefer the orange myself over the yellow, but different strokes for different folks. Hope you get yours in Yellow!

    Streamlight LED Survivor

Firefighter: what is the price of the Survivor LED at the fire/ems convention? I mail ordered mine and it appears to be out-of-stock right now, so I'm waiting between 7 to 10 days (e-mailed response). These lights appear to be approx $50 mailed. :sold:

    Streamlight LED Survivor

Thanks Brighteyez and Silverfox. You both enlightened me (excuse the pun) on the use of rechargeables and alkalines. When I first learned about NiCads, I thought they were the greatest thing until I started using them everywhere and found out they rapidly self-deplete. I agree they are not...

    Streamlight LED Survivor

Who is running aftermarket rechargeables on the Streamlight LED Survivor? I just ordered mine (orange!) and plan to get some aftermarket rechargeables, so and suggestions? I'm expecting to use this light as a workhorse, so rechargeables are the way to go. NiCads seem to self deplete...

Do you think Surefire will have a G2L (for LED) to answer to the Pelican 3330?

    Looking For SureFire G2

Most of the time it will be at home as a emergency light. If I hear a noise in the backyard, I'll pull it and use it! I guess black then, huh?

    Looking For SureFire G2

If I add two G2's to the cart, the shipping is free.... but not for one.... Any thoughts on colors of the G2? I like black, but the yellow is kinda cool also!

    Looking For SureFire G2

Okay, I went through the and signed up for the membership at OpticsHQ. Unfortunately, I won't get free shipping (less than $50) and pay the sales tax upfront also (I'm in CA). This brings it very close to a local store price.... Any other deals on a Surefire G2? :sssh:

What's a good light for an elderly person

I would do a small light like photon or inova microlight that could be carried around her neck all the time. Anything larger may not be carried all the time. Consider adding some of the automatic emergency lights that stay plugged into a outlet but come on whenever the power goes off. Hope...
