The Squirt P4 with a Gerber Clutch. The Clutch only goes for about $14 to the Leatherman $35 – 2.5 inches to the Squirts 2.25 inches – implements harder to pull out – can pinch your finger when closing – not the quality of the Leatherman Squirt but not bad for the price.
Squirt P4 next to a regular size Leatherman
Leatherman - micra and squirt S4
Leatherman Juice S2 (my favorite) – and SOG crossgrip (not user friendly)
All of the pliers mini tools - smallest is a buck
Received my new Raw XR-E today and - WOW.
Live in the forest and just came in from spotting deer with it.
Quick question:
From when the Raw first turns on for the low setting it takes another 3/4 rotation to get to the high setting. Is this about normal for the Raw XR-E?
My original Raw NS...
Thanks for the ideas. I'll have to keep a lookout for something that works. Just seems like a simple solultion - a rubber cap just a quarter inch deep or so would work great.
I know the Orb lens are suppose to be scatch resistant, but so are my glasses and they are scratched all over and not...
Could care less about scratches on the body but would like to protect the lens.
Have an Orb Raw NS and soon to have the new Alum Raw XR-E. Would like to carry them in the pocket with keys and etc. Don't care about scratches and marks on the body. I would like to avoid scratches, nicks, and...
Have the Fenix - got the new Raw ordered (also have the RAW NS).
The main advange of the Fenix P1D-CE is the run time. One hour on high verses the 25 minutes on high for the new RAW cree. Low run times are great. The Fenix beam is ringy on most - if that bothers you stay away from it - it is...
Good question.
Some Chinese products are made by slave type labor - so for those the overhead is smaller. Hopefully people making the Fenix lights are free to work there or not and are getting paid a good wage in Chinese terms.
When I got my Ns it was 6 pounds a trit slot - I think that is the same.
The battery for the Raw is now protected - get an extra. I believe the Ns battery is still unprotected - don't be afraid of them - just charge them when they start to dim.
I just ordered the new RAW with a March 2nd...
Looking at the pictures at the start of the thread it looks like the ring holder protrudes and would prevent the RAW from sitting flat on its end. Or am I seeing it wrong?
I really like the NS but only have the LUX III - thinking on getting a Cree upgrade.
Can anyone give any feedback on an Orb Raw Alum with the Cree?
Light on low
On my P1D CE I thought that there was basically little difference at first between primary and highest wall hunting until I did this.
Shined a P1 (about the same as primary on the wall - maybe very slightly dimmer) next to the P1D CE.
Then went to high and it is very noticable that on high...
I live in the deep woods - nightly use mine to spot the many deer that bed around the house - plus to keep the coyotes away when the dog goes out to do his business after dark. So for me the current throw works out well - if it was less I would go to a differnt light for this purpose even...
Gave it another try and the Nano went to green full charge in three hours.
One strange thing happened - the LED still had a faint glow after turning off the light - turned it on and off a few times and it disappeared - somehow was still getting some current I guess.
:thanks:
