I just like Fenix flashlights.
same here. i like fenix'. i knew nothing of flashlights. i stumbled across the E1 on ebay trying to replace my crappy mag solitaire EDC... and my addiction started.

i pre-ordered the tk-40

...then i went out to target and snatched up 16 rechargeable AAs. luckily my charger does 8 at a time.

(what's up with jerks posting negative remarks on cpf?? get the hell out of here; what's the point?? if you don't like the thread subject, don't click it!!!!!! ...jerks!)

I have my order in also. I'm no expert on flashlights but if I like it...it's good enough for me. I haven't been disapointed with a Fenix light yet and I don't think I will be with the tk40.

I seriously considered it myself - sight unseen. Only reason I haven't ordered one is because I really don't like the pain in the arsh of messing around with all the multiple batteries. Don't mind it when putting together a jazzed up Mag just to get goofy bright light - but for any light I'm going to actually use, I like simplicity and packing/charging 8 AA ain't convenient. Another thing I don't like about multiple battery lights are the holding case is just another device for potential failure and of course your changes of having a bad battery causing damage is greatly magnified.

Other than the multi batteries - I love the idea of the stock brightness and function. I still may get one anyway because Fenix makes decent lights in general. HOWEVER - I do not think this will be a good seller to the general public if they understand the number of batteries it uses.

I like the idea of an 8AA flashlight. That much I last year made my own 8AA light by 4 Fenix E20 coupled together. Also I am waiting for an Elektro Lumens dropin to Maglite 3D. Therefore the TK40 isn't my first need, I already have a 400+lumens 8AA light and will soon get a much brighter light than TK40.

I will likely get it later, but I want to read the reviews first...

Regards, Patric

Do we need another thread on the TK40?
When the TK40 is released and people can comment in a sober manner on their experiences and impressions of it, then there will be plenty of scope for further threads. In the meantime, ill-tempered Friday night threads such as this one, with members calling each other "jerks" and so on, are surplus to requirement.

There is an existing thread here; this one is closed.
