Okay, here's the deal. I am now a distributor for the ChangChun PGL-III handheld laser. This laser takes two "C" batteries. I recently received 4 of them from CNI, and the output power ranged from 104mW to 191mW. I kept the 191mW unit, and sold the others. This model used to have an adjustable power switch in the end cap, but no more. Now they're just full power all the time. Also, the driver board is no longer in the end cap, it's up in the laser. The switch is a click-on type. If you press it lightly it will come on without clicking on, but if you press a little harder it will click on and stay on until you click it off. With the heat sink fins that wrap around this laser, it can be run for a long time without worying about overheating. They also have a safety key that has to be inserted into the side, and a safety connector that needs to be inserted into the end cap before the laser will work. The key is a good idea, but the connector is annoying and easily bypassed with a jumper in the pin holes. After turning on the laser, there is a two second delay before the beam comes on. These lasers are FDA certified, and all of these safety precautions were added to meet the guidelines required for certification of a Class IIIb laser. This laser blows away any Leadlight. It's a totally different class. I have a Wickedlaser 42mW, which I then modified further by shorting the pot so that it's now drawing 550mA. This is about as strong as a Leadlight can get. Even the lowest power 104mW GPL-III laser that I received is far more powerful than this Leadlight. Forget about comparing it to the 191mW unit - The 191mW just dwarfs the Leadlight.

So I'm taking orders for these lasers. The price is $500 up front, and there could be up to a 4 week wait time before you receive your laser. Once they arrive, I'm requesting an additional $2 per mW above 100mW. So, if you pay $500 now and then I have a 140mW laser to sell you when they arrive, you pay an additional $80 at that time. The first person to pay the $500 payment gets first pick at which laser they want from the selection I get, second to pay gets second pick, etc. If by chance someone gets stuck with a laser that measures below 100mW, I will refund $2 per mW below 100mW, or refund the entire amount and forget the deal if desired.

I will accept payment by PayPal or check/money order. I will place the order with the manufacturer when I have at least 4 orders. If you want to get in on this, PayPal the $500 to [email protected] or PM or email me.

Please keep in mind that I'm not making a huge profit here. The time I'm going to have to put into this is not worth the amount I'm going to make from it. I'm doing this more for the fun of it than the money. I'm really in love with these lasers, and I want to share them with other CPF members. Feel free to follow up in this thread if you have any questions about this laser, and I will do my best to answer them.

I wish I had $500 to spare - /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif

I'm /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif right now, but I may just go with it.

I hope shiftlock gets a powerful one in the bunch. And hopefully it works good, not like that POS from blake.

Okay, I've received one order. I would like to receive three more before I place an order with the manufacturer. If anyone is considering one of these, now's the time, because this may be the last order I place with them. Next person gets second pick from the lot.

awsome !!
Butt 500$ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think i want to wait some months...
Dont really think a dot in the distance of 5 miles away is worth 500$ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
But anyway.. i doooooooooooooooo really waaaaaant it !!!

Do you think being able to sting your wife in the butt from across the room is worth $500? I sure do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Please say he has positions left.. i can order one of these now! ( i must be mad! )

where are u shiftlock? AGH!!!!

i just made payment thru paypal.. i hope you have some over 100mw left .. i want 140mw.. 268 quid.. now spent /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

I've received the second order. Two more and I place the order with the manufacturer. The average for these lasers seems to be around 130mW to 160mW, and there's a good chance the'll all be at or above that range, so don't be discouraged by the next spot being #3. The last order I placed for 4 of them, 3 of them were above 130mW, and one of them was faulty so it was returned. Even in the worst case scenario you will still receive a laser that will put even the most modified Leadlight to shame, and it will do it reliably, and it can be left on for long periods of time without worry of overheating.

This is killing me, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

$500 is WAY out of my laser budget right now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
100+mW is nothing to laugh at. I am fairly new to green lasers, but I know enough to know, that these must be some AMAZING hand held lasers. $500 is alot of $, but its actually a good price, just take a few minites to surf around, and see what a 100mW laser will cost you. AND most of the time, it will not be a hand held unit, but rather a larger table top system.

Who ever purchases one of these are obligated to post many pages of shocking and jaw dropping photos of themselves playing..... AH... operating their high power laser in a responcable and safe manor. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif

i am real excited, i cant believe i actually just ordered one of these things.. i bet is absolutely awesome.

Best time for me though, still expensive.. but because of the War in iraq, the dollar is real cheap at the moment.. so i shouldnt complain too much /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

if i use a normal sony camcorder who thinks it will come out good on video?

time to run away, before most of my family realise how much i just paid for a laser.. lol not joking /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i could probably safely say that i would own one of the strongest hand held lasers in the uk? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sure there are others of this model in the UK already, expecially the older style with the adjustable power switch, but the new ones seem to have more power, and with second pick of at least 4 units, I think you could safely say that you have one of the most powerful self-contained handheld lasers in the UK. Please be careful with it and take all necessary precautions. It's really not a toy and needs to be handeled in a responsible manner. I was kidding about stinging my wife's butt (although this laser could to that), do not shine it toward other people. Do not shine it at airplanes, do not operate it in crowded public areas, etc.

dont worry, i am a responsible person with lasers.. i havent, and wont do anything irresponsible with it.. that is hard to say and believe, but even my father said i responsible with em so that definatly means something lol.

i tell you though, if you had this baby with you and you were stuck on a mountain somewhere this would definatly save your ***.

i think i saw a video of 100mw? or was it 75? burning a plastic cup.. from a good few feet away across the room? forgot which site i saw it at.

Shiftlock, i forgot to ask.. why is there a 2 sec delay when powering on? to comply with the FDA regs?..
could you take a few pictures of the actual laser case i want to see what im gonna get /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif, is it a maglite casing?

The two second turn-on delay is to make the laser compliant with CDRH regulations.

Although it's been a very long time since I've studied CDRH regulations, all Class IIIb lasers need a turn-on delay, key switch, beam shutter, and visible emission indicator (such as an LED) to be fully compliant.

I don't have the necessary money, otherwise I'd be all over this offer like flies to a pile of {vulgar term for feces}.
