Okay, here's the deal. I am now a distributor for the ChangChun PGL-III handheld laser. This laser takes two "C" batteries. I recently received 4 of them from CNI, and the output power ranged from 104mW to 191mW. I kept the 191mW unit, and sold the others. This model used to have an adjustable power switch in the end cap, but no more. Now they're just full power all the time. Also, the driver board is no longer in the end cap, it's up in the laser. The switch is a click-on type. If you press it lightly it will come on without clicking on, but if you press a little harder it will click on and stay on until you click it off. With the heat sink fins that wrap around this laser, it can be run for a long time without worying about overheating. They also have a safety key that has to be inserted into the side, and a safety connector that needs to be inserted into the end cap before the laser will work. The key is a good idea, but the connector is annoying and easily bypassed with a jumper in the pin holes. After turning on the laser, there is a two second delay before the beam comes on. These lasers are FDA certified, and all of these safety precautions were added to meet the guidelines required for certification of a Class IIIb laser. This laser blows away any Leadlight. It's a totally different class. I have a Wickedlaser 42mW, which I then modified further by shorting the pot so that it's now drawing 550mA. This is about as strong as a Leadlight can get. Even the lowest power 104mW GPL-III laser that I received is far more powerful than this Leadlight. Forget about comparing it to the 191mW unit - The 191mW just dwarfs the Leadlight.
So I'm taking orders for these lasers. The price is $500 up front, and there could be up to a 4 week wait time before you receive your laser. Once they arrive, I'm requesting an additional $2 per mW above 100mW. So, if you pay $500 now and then I have a 140mW laser to sell you when they arrive, you pay an additional $80 at that time. The first person to pay the $500 payment gets first pick at which laser they want from the selection I get, second to pay gets second pick, etc. If by chance someone gets stuck with a laser that measures below 100mW, I will refund $2 per mW below 100mW, or refund the entire amount and forget the deal if desired.
I will accept payment by PayPal or check/money order. I will place the order with the manufacturer when I have at least 4 orders. If you want to get in on this, PayPal the $500 to [email protected] or PM or email me.
Please keep in mind that I'm not making a huge profit here. The time I'm going to have to put into this is not worth the amount I'm going to make from it. I'm doing this more for the fun of it than the money. I'm really in love with these lasers, and I want to share them with other CPF members. Feel free to follow up in this thread if you have any questions about this laser, and I will do my best to answer them.
