128 LED flashlight

What would be a good single LED alternative to the 128 LED light? Say I wanted something with similar characteristics like a wide flood, just as bright and powered on D cells? Possible?

Sure, for single LED you've got MagLED or TerraLux or Malkoff. Although there is a guy up on ebay selling what appears to be good quality 20 and 33 white LED arrays that fit in a 3D Maglite. 20 LED claims 75 lumens, 33 LED claims 120 lumens, both with a nice 24 degree flood.

I think I'll order the 33 LED one just for the heck of it. I have a feeling... this is the real deal. Decent quality 5mm LED's I hope... I wonder what ones he uses?

How come no one has mentioned this multi LED array? The guy must be a CPF member...
