Mini 123 for #1 spot. This is my opinion due to the bang for the buck of this light. I can't think of another light that can output this many lumens for the price, features, size, and quality.

One item HAS to be . . . .

Never DREAMED i'd ever be able to afford a Titanium flashlight.

But now, thanks to David's industry-changing-prices,

i actually own two of these "precious metal beauties".

Thank you, David.

The Fenix MC10?

I'm using it more and more. Useful in a whole lot of situations.

1. Very comfortable in hand (used it for running).
2. Can literally hang it anywhere.
3. The angled head even though 'only' at 90 degrees is plenty useful.
4. Diffuser fixes well on the head and works like a charm.

AW's safe chemistry IMR cells - the full range of sizes. (And his LifeP04 R123 safe chem cell)
The Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST50 using RCR123's and an 18650

I am putting the Zebralight 501 right at the top for me. Also the Quarks with the R5 and the Eagletac T100C2 one of the best tactical lights at a bargain price. Oh and the many keychain lights PD10, Mini123/AA.

I'll go with the Quark Ti series. I don't think anything got more attention within the past few months.

Nitecore D10/EX10 series was wildly popular as well. Very solid lights.

EDIT: Who can forget Maratac starting the whole "high power AAA keychain light" craze.

i would put Thrunight's Catapult on that list because:

>performance is outstanding - despite being a kickass throwing light it has more than enough spill to be a practical light.

>its one of the first to showcase the Luminous Phlatlight.

>but most of all it is only the 2nd light Thrunite has made...kinda makes you wonder what they'll have on the 2010 list.

Liteflux LF3XT - Great UI versatility and perfect beam profile/tint.
Liteflux LF2XT - Great UI versatility, perfect beam profile/tint and takes Li-ion officially.
Quark Titanium Series - I relate this release to Steve Jobs' release of the iPhone. Titanium with the latest CREE at an affordable price cannot be wrong.
Surefire LX2 - Noteworthy from Surefire. Would love to vote for more new releases but..... *cricket sounds*
Nitecore EZ Series - The default EZ-iest and smallest (till Quark Minis came along) lights to operate.
Jetbeam Raptor Series - Great form, throw and best selector ring implementation of all selector ring lights.
Peak Eiger Series - Exciting/Intimidating array of output and body options.
Nailbender's Drop-ins - P-60 hosts worldwide now have the option of the latest and the brightest.
Sabrewolf's Chimera - Radical form, charging and function, all in one.
Zebralight H501 - Perhaps the most user-friendly headlamp this year.

I would like to vote for Quark Mini and Prism, but I've not got them yet to verify if they're vote-worthy. :)

oy, that's cheating.. same output, just rated correctly. :poke:
sssshhhhh..... :sssh: not so loud...

and on to my next 7 to fill the top 10 list:
#4 ZebraLight H501/w
#5 LiteFlux LF2XT
#6 EagleTac T100C2 MKII
#7 Cree MC-E
#8 AW IMR 18500, powering the incans
#9 Fenix TK40, because it's one of a kind and because it delivers
#10 Surefire UB3 Invictus, ok... this one is not release yet, but it sprout a slew of revolver ring design in recent flashlight releases.
