Hello all and thanks for the excellent forum!
I recently bought a STANLEY FATMAX FL5W10 and even though I understand these are mis-advertised for rated lumens, was impressed by the output.
Would it be possible to put an XM-L on a 16mm PCB with a small headlamp sized reflector and power it from a single 18650? Ideally I would also like to add a bank of low power wide beam LEDs and a single low power red LED.
Specifically, my concerns are with heat dissipation and the reflector size for the XM-L. I understand I won't get the same performance as with a large reflector, but just wondering about feasibility in general.
If this is an option, could someone recommend a driver, led and reflector supplier? I saw recommendations for www.LEDsupply.com for LEDs and optics and http://www.taskled.com for drivers, but would appreciate pointers on a specific brand.
I assume I would need a separate driver for the wide beam and red LEDs.
Thank you very much!
Warm regards,
Zane
