18650 in a MAG 1D : tips?

I have searched and had no luck with what I am looking for. I am looking for a cheap and easy DIY solution to making a spacer for a MAG 1D to fit a 18650 cell as well as a reliable way to modify the spring or tailcap for the cell. Any tips ideas or pics you can share would be great. I really like wquiles spacer and tailcap plug but searching for something similiar I can make myself.

Cheap and easy cell sleeve; 1" PVC electrical conduit & 3/4" schedule 80 PVC pipe. Conduit is perfect fit inside D M@G and pipe slides inside conduit.
