Anyone know of a good adapter to use one 18650 in a 2-D Mag? I only seem to see some eBay/Etsy home-brew things, and 3-D printing instructions. I'm not against home-brew, but I don't have a lathe or 3-D printer.

OT, I'll also be looking for a budget, modest output drop-in, maybe bigger than the Nite-ize 75 lumen.

I dont know what max. length a 2d tube can accommodate. There are 1x18650 B90 adapters for Surefire 9N available at about 132mm length, thats about 8mm or so longer then 2x D cells. Im thinking thats too long but 2x18650 can fit into 2d when cutting the spring so it might fit. Those will be too slim however, and might need tubing or plastic adapter ring to keep them from rattling. There may be C to D cell adapter tubes available.

I 3D print them.

The blue adapter is a 18650 to 2C and the red is a 2 C to 2 D. I used a set of 2 adapters so that there is no need to mod the D cell light's spring to make contact with the smaller 18650.

The 18650 to 2C adapter also has built in mechanical reverse polarity protection, so only button top (including wide button tops) will work.

I also make similar adapters for 3 D cell lights along with many different 21700 and 26650 adapters among others.

Are these adapters for sale somewhere? BST? Unfortunately, I don't do PayPal, so I try to look for credit card vendors.

I bought a similar adapter from XXO, a 21700 to 2C adapter tube. It fits both my light and the 21700 cell perfectly...slides into the battery tube without sticking; no rattle; and the tailcap spring seats with the same tension as when using a 2C configuration. I have no hesitation recommending his work.
