I want to shim 18650's into my 2c maglite, what size pvc do I need. I've read different things but never got the clear answer I am looking for.

Is it Sch. 30(thin wall) or Sch. 40(thick wall)? Is it 1", 3/4" or 1/2"?

I know many of you have probably done this

Thank you

18650s are a little over 18mm in diameter, so 3/4in pipe. The Mag tube is a hair over an inch ID, so however that impacts your decision...

member download used to have a neat little kit solution for fitting 2 18650's neatly in a 2C including tailcap solution, tube extention, and battery sleeve. Not sure if he still offers it but you might google "MagRing kit for 2C".

I'm not going to get batteries and an adapter, I'm a poor *** college student. I ordered the 18650's off DX and I'm just looking for the cheap way to shim them in there without doing something chinsy like a paper wrap.

Well i went to the store to get some CPVC and its just a hair to small ID. So what I did was cut it into two halves and put them down the barrel then insert the batteries. It works well to center the batteries and prevent rattling.

That's clever. I'm not sure I would have thought of that. I probably would have bored the tube out with a 3/4 in drill bit. Nice worksaver.
