2 AA Light Question

I have a Fenix L2P. Are there other 2AA lights that are brighter with longer runtime that are either single or dual mode?

A L2D-CE is a much better light,
but if You want to keep the L2P and mod it to work like a "T" model (but with a lower low), solder a 5 (or 7.5) ohms resistor into the head.

There is a tread with pics, named something like "Fenix head mod", but I was not able to find it to give a link.

There are many single-mode lights that have a Cree LED and run on 2 AA batteries, look on Dealextreme. They should be brighter then the L2P. There are also many 1 AA lights that are similar in output to L2P.

If you have the old L2P, then the L2T will be somewhat brighter, in my experience. Some people might be willing to mod it (either the L2T or L2P) with a Cree or Seoul for additional brightness, however.
