2 cell 123 lights

Hi, does anyone know what lights, if any, use 2 123 batteries and a PR Base bulb ? Larry.

Which is the same as the 2C 3X123 Mag mod. Easy to do, hellishly bright for it's size, cheap.

Cool, thanks for this tip, I hadn't thought of that before. Just ran out and bought an "eveready floating waterproof" 2AA light to do this with, worked out great. Not a wonderful beam with this light, gonna see if I can get the reflector out to sputter it (it's glued into the bezel). Either way, this is going into my pack for state medical response team duties.

finally got the reflector out and got it sputtered...even though I did a relatively poor job of this, it ends up being a fairly nice beam. I'd call it surefire-esque- still a fair amount of artifacts around the corona, and not perfectly centered, but nice hotspot with smooth falloff.
I gotta say, this was a very satisfying use of $5 and a handfull of batteries and bulbs I alredy had lying around /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How did you squeeze cr123 batts into the AA tube? What did you do to the tube and how did you do it?

Dorcy has a small, nice looking metal and rubber 2AA flashlight in it's Boss line with a faceted reflector I'd like to try CR123 batts in. I wonder if it can be done?

the battery compartment of the light I chose was wider than necessary for AA, and had 4 plastic "fins" inside to keep the batteries centered. I cut down two of the fins using a woodcarving knife, which made space for a stack of 123's.

I just had an evil thought, too....a 7-cell bulb and three R123's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 2AA Dorcy Boss bares more of a resemblance to the Gel-Lite than to typical 2AA aluminum tubes and I wonder if it too has "fins".
