I was wondering if anyone has made a 2 x AA tube for the E1E light?
I would assume the MNO1 lamp would run fine on 2 AAs, with more runtime than one would get from a CR123a cell.
Then again, maybe the voltage wouldn't be quite high enough to get it to work, or it would work for some time, but be significantly dimmer.
I did a search and didn't find anything on this, so maybe there is some reason like the voltage or something else I'm not aware of that would explain why this wouldn't work. Maybe this switching of CR123a and 2 AA cells only works with LED lamps. I'm a rank newbie when it comes to incans.
Maybe a 10 lumen lamp that would run on slightly less than 3v would work? 10 lumens for, what, maybe 3 or 4 hours on 2 AA vs. 15 lumens for 1.5 hours on 1 CR123a? Might make some sense.
If it would work, though, wouldn't it fix the only real shortcoming of thie E1e, the lack of runtime?
