2 x D maglite + malkoff = :(

I guess an 18650 and a spacer might be a good option as well, although with maybe half the capacity of 3x C cells.

A 6-AA series-parallel holder would also be OK, but not sure if anyone makes such a thing. Most of the 6AA holders are wired for series (7.2V) not series-parallel (3.6V).

Run 3 C cells in the 2D
Mag. Shorten the tail spring
And use a piece of pvc pipe
To keep the batteries from ratling around.

I did this for my dad in his old black 2D MAG light in early 2007, except I used a DHS heatsink, SSC P4 and an AMC7135 based driver. You could also build a PVC battery tube to use an 18650 in it. Look at my quad M@G build in my sigline for an idea of what the battery tubes look like.

i got 3 x C (3.6v) on the terralux and the malkoff in the 3 x D.(3.6v)

both are good.

not 8 million lumens,

but i guess ill have to spend more than $50 to get that right :candle:

im not going to sleep at night till i figure out how to get 5.5v to the malkoff.:scowl:

hey, i got the 4-6c mag in two days time, and running it on 3x123 is the ticket for small size and max output, i love this thing, its a laser. do you have any plans to make another with a higher drive level? say maybe 2amp?

how? what light do you have the 'dropin' in and 3 x 123?

the drop-in is designed for 4-6c cells, thats to big for me, and figured since it could handle 6c cells (9volts) then 3x123 primaries (9volts) would work and would be driving it as hard as possible, and in the smallest package possible, all in all its my new favorite toy. its the definition of sleeper

oh yeah, i totally missed the question, mag 2c with a pvc tube holding the 3x123...

nice work.

now i jus gotta figure out how to get 5 (5.5?) volts to my malkoff dropin in the smallest host possible
