Hi Folks,

My dad just purchased the above noted vehicle. I want him to have the best lighting possible. Best legal headlight bulb and marker bulbs? All signal bulbs are incan, the previous owners appear to have left the lighting stock.

They live just outside the city limits so some highway travel is inevitable.

Thanks

By a wide margin, the best standard-wattage (100% unassailably legal) bulbs are the Philips Xtreme Vision 9003 (or Philips Xtreme Vision H4, no significant difference between the two so shop by price). As with any high-performance bulb, lifespan will be relatively short.

I don't recommend messing with the "marker" bulbs. The only LED retrofit bulbs potentially worth trying are the Philips ones; see thread here. Subsequent to that thread, my testing so far has returned largely very good results. But (this is important) these are the only LED bulbs that can realistically be called legitimate. They won't necessarily work in your lamps, but they're the only ones that stand a realistic chance of it. And while we're on that topic, don't fall prey to any of the rotten ideas easily found in the motorcycle lighting world (headlamp "modulators", brake light pulse/flash/blink modules, etc.)

No worries Scheinwerfermann, I had no intention of messing about with LED anything, or changing anything. I noticed that one of the signals emplacements is dim compared to its fellow, so I was just going to recommend my dad put new bulbs all around to ensure they are 100%. I know in the past you have sometimes recommended certain bulbs for turn signals from Honda dealership due to them being a long life or extra bright item, I just cannot remember.

If there is no "better" turn signal bulb, I will just advise him to buy the stock item and replace them all as he is doing his pre-season tune up.

Put a Whelen TIR3 or something similar on the back as an aux brakelight. Sure keeps the cagers in their mobile phone booths away!

That's both unsafe and illegal, and Rule 11 of this board prohibits advocating illegal or dangerous activity.

This kind of comment is not appropriate here, thanks.
