Hello,

Bosch BAT836 pack contains 10s2p Konion 18650 batts. However, shipping them across waters is very expensive.

Now, I know this is a very long shot and a lot to ask for, but I thought, perhaps I could find someone experienced and skilled in US, so I could ship them there to take them apart, and then he'd ship batteries to EU.

Is there any chance for this or am I daydreaming?

Thanks for any input.

I bought one of those and they use the Sony VT cells. They have a little less capacity, but are a good deal....so you have to charge them sooner than AW's or Sony V

hmm, yes, sorry, i mixed them up.

at 50$ for 20 cells its a steal - but shipping to lithuania would be another 50$ at least + customs + vat. that brings it up a lot. so i was hoping i could strike a deal with one of forum members..

I have some 150 18650 used cells from laptop batteries (owning a computer shop does help) so i can try to mail 2 or 4 of them that are in good condition to you, free of charge so i can test if the postage does get anywhere. Most of the time whatever i mail gets back to me. The offer goes also to someone in Europe and USA, just PM the address. P.S. If any of you have a sudden urge to mail whatever parts to me ( especially emitters ), you are more than welcomed.

I guess they'd probably unsafest 18650s out there - they aint protected, correct?

I'm not trying to diss you here, just trying to get as much information as possible.

Bare cells from good brands of laptop will usually be good brands of cells, but they are going to be unprotected, and are not "safe chemistry" cells like the LiMn found in power tools. I would not consider them to be the least safe li-ion cells, but not far from it. I do not believe they are what you are looking for.

They are unsafe due to not having the electronic they had, if they get discharged to much they tend to get very hot very quickly when you try to recharge them, but, and this is a big BUT, if they are above 2.5 V there are no problems with them EVER. I have a moded 2D M@G with a 35W OSRAM halogen and they work like a charm running at 2.2A when fully charged and they are rated at 1800 mAh. Anyway most of them are SONY, few are PANASONIC and 9 are GP. As a personal note, the PANASONIC ones look and work best even after some really heavy use, SONY's tend to get really messed up after some 300-400 charges, and all older IBM laptops use PANASONIC, also some really old COMPAQ's use old SONY cells that work perfectly after 8 years of use although they are rated at 1300 mAh but they have some really complicated electronic to control them. Regards.
