And one more creation from FiveMega.
HA Serial 3x18650 body / tail cap / Bi-Pin which is improved version of M6. These are CNC machined body, tail cap with built in Bi-Pin socket from US made solid 6061 aircraft aluminum alloy which is also machined and assembled in States.
Mil spec HA body is only 3mm fatter than original M6 but 20mm shorter. Therefore it is easier to carry and better weight balance.
Color is very similar to M6 (greenish gray) and no other color, no other shape and no other option are or will be available.
Takes 3 protected 18650 connected in series for total of 11.1 volt to power up WA1185 or or 3 IMR18650 to power up FM1909
You don't even need a MN socket. Socket is part of the body and because of springs ellimination, current will flow easily and performance is excellent.
Do not use MN20, MN21 or any other LA with this set up.
No external battery holder required. Integrated battery connectors are installed and come with body.
Connectors are improved to work with AW's 2.6, AW's 2.2 or IMR18650 cells.
Body and tail cap involved with a lot of machine work to ensure it will give you same reliability and feeling with original M6 body while you get much more power, better performance, lower initial cost and longer run time per charge and forget about primary cells.
Tail cap is designed to work with option B of these switches or I can install McClicky switch for $20 extra.
I have tested WA1185 with 3 protected 18650 charged to 4.2 volts and mentioned soft start switch with no instaflash. Will work with McClickie too.
For longer run time you can use WA1166 CL809 and many more.
Installing your soft start switch is as easy of installing M*g tail cap. If Gary can do it, you will be easily able to do it in less than a minute.
Installing a bi-pin WA1185 is also so simple. Insert bulb pins then very gently tighten set screw with provided wrench. Do not force or over tighten it.
It is important to know that tiny set screw is very very easy to strip and not covered by warranty.
Duty of set screw is to hold weight of 1 gram bulb and any kind of overtightening will strip threads, stock the set screw and or pinch the bulb pin.
Set screw is angled. Please see the picture.
Each $139 body comes with battery connectors, front o'ring, double tail orings, tail cap, black switch boot, built in bi-pin socket, allen hex wrench and flat washer.
You may have to slightly lift the 1185 bulb before tighten set screw or use provided washer with taller bulb such as 1909
WIll work perfectly with KT4 head. KT-4 Head is not included or available in this thread.
Simply install mentioned switch, 3x18650 batteries, KT-4 head and ready to go.
Please make sure to install batteries according to P as Positive and N as Negative printed on connectors. Wrong installation of batteries will void warranty. Tail side battery connector plate is one way in so don't force it in.
No head, bulb or battery is included.
Please compare quality, price and usefulness of this product to others or even M6

Note: If you are using AW's soft start switch, use very tiny copper wire braid between collar and switch housing and make sure after tightening brass collar, switch housing does not have free movement.
Please see here.
Also slightly bending bulb pins will make better electrical contacts.

Is there any chance you would be making those bodies with empty space inside (to be used with a battery holder)? If somebody would manage to talk those guys making PhD-M6 regulated driver into making 18650 version of the battery holder (or their holder could be modded to fit 18650), that kind of M6 body would be very useful to me.

These look awesome...anyone know where I can get a head for this?

Thanks,

Does this new model have an improved battery contact system or is it using the same contact plates as the last run of serial megalleniums?

Answer is in post #1

So you're saying they are improved so they don't crush cells and have intermittent contact problems? I don't see anything in post #1 addressing this issue. I just see a generic "Connectors are improved to work with AW's 2.6, AW's 2.2 or IMR18650 cells." but it doesn't say in what way they are improved or if this problems was addressed. Clearly from the photos there is a new tailcap design, but without pictures of how it works internally it's impossible to tell.

Also, a bit of advice from a repeat customer, The question I asked was not deserving of your smartass and rude answer. You ought to at least make an effort to treat a presales customer question with a bit of respect. You are in a customer service business after all.

From some personal experience with Mr Fivemega, he has a hard time with English as its not his first language I believe...I don't think he means what comes across. And I agree that it does come across the way you see it, but that's not what I think he means to happen.

And no excuse or anything, dont get me wrong, FM should cover questions one way or another.

FM I would also like to see some pictures of the "new design" if you are unable to explain it in writing. I am thinking about stepping up for one of these as well :)
