4300 bulb for stanley??

AFAIK any H3 type automotive HID bulb should work. There are a ton of ebay sellers and HID Automotive websites which sell them. Just gotta shop around for the best price for a 4300 one. Should be able to pick one up a pair for ~$50.

I made some posts in the original Stanley thread about H3 bulb length. You may want to take a look. I think some are longer than others and you're looking for a short one so the focal point of the arc chamber is relatively the same as with the current bulb. You can shim a little but IIRC, the long bulbs are nearly 3/16" different so shimming becomes very difficult if possible at all.

I can attest what BVH is saying about the H3 bulb being made in two different lengths. I was ordering new HID bulbs for my foglights when I ran into that problem.

Sure, if you auto store carries these. Match up the front side of the metal flanges on both bulbs and then see how close the center point of the arc chambers are. I shimmed mine .075 IIRC. So if the replacement bulb arc chamber is the same or up to 1/32" further away from the flange, it will probably work. If it's shorter or closer the the flange, it will not work. Another way of saying this is usually, you need to move the arc chamber back towards the back of the reflector to get the tightest beam. But you can't easily move it back more than a typical flat washer's worth.
