5mm LED in Soli with intact lens?

Can someone please describe the switch assembly in the Soli and how is it fixed in the location in the body? From 5mm mod instructions elsewhere, they drill a hole in the lens for the led to poke out. Why couldn't the switch be dropped down some and a plastic tube "extender" used for on/off? Thx

I just saw how Rheslip shortened the base of a 5mm led in an older post. Which would be easier, shortening the led or pushing the switch in some? Thx again

Must have been a strange mod, I've never seen one that drilled a hole in the lens.

Usually you do have to drill out the reflector, but not the lens. There are a number of different mods, which one you are doing? 5mm ran by button cells? A12 + resistor?

Thx. I'll probably do Rheslip's mod with the 10440s. I saw the bit for cutting a hole in the lens from a 5mm mod at flashlightreviews.

Then I'll look at getting a Fenix E0.
