Just got my McLux parts today and was wondering what everyone's thoughts and experiences were with direct driveing a U2TW Vf 6.39-6.87V(or similar) 5W LS with 3x123 lithiums? has anyone done this?
Im scared to do it as I've lost 5 watters before with too much current useing Nicads within range of an LS's Vf spec and with proper heatsinking. (could have been a bum set of parts for me but I'm gun shy now).
If I used a Resistor in series... what would you guys reccomend? I can figure this out but was interested in what other folks have been using with track record proven success. Has anyone lost a 5W LS in this config?
If I was to go to a buck\boost or just buck converter, are there any good choices that come close to fitting the BB series converters?
What are all the other DIY'ers with 3x123's doing?
Thanks in advance! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
