Ok so the 2.4W bulb (4.8V) is available. The lower voltage is due to the 4AA's not being able to drive the bulb at the 6v (1.5v X 4). I have the 6W version with a 6W 1A bulb which is driven by a 6V 4Ah sealed lead acid battery. The manual says running the 4.8V 2.4W bulb off the battery will burn out the bulb very quickly.
The bulb is G2.5 base but I cannot find spare G2.5 6W bulbs only 2.5W. There are quite a few G4 base halogen bulbs available but does anyone know where can I find G2.5 bulbs of higher wattage ?
