Hey folks,

I need a cheap carrier for 9volt batts....the other day i was carring some in a ziplock bag and they were arcing and getting real hot...

Got any cheap suggestions..

Thanks and Be Safe

I'm sure there are some cases out there, but for cheap, tape over the contacts, use one zip-lock per battery, or keep the original package.

Check the electronics section at K-Mart for the zippered, nylon cases for storing electronic media, memory cards. I've had great luck finding some for under $5 that hold 6-8 CR 123 batteries, w/ belt loops or the ability to attach a lanyard. I've found several that would hold a number of 9 volt cells perfectly and safely. I've looked elsewhere, like Target, Wal-Mart, but K-Mart had the best selection, cheapest too.
Good luck.

If you know someone who uses industrial bulk packages of 9v batts, like a tech in a concert hall or a theater where wireless mics are plentiful, the batts come with a small plastic contact cover that must be removed before use. They usually have dozens scattered in the equipment cabinet and they are reusable essentially forever.
Or you could just buy a 10 or 12 battery industrial pack one time and keep the contact covers as you use them up. They are cheaper that way too.
