MSC has provided most of the tooling for a precision bushing project that's in the shop. It has been The Job From Hell, and I'll be happy if my quoted price covers the cost of tooling ... which is $605 as of this writing ... and I have yet to make one part that will work. So I've been careful to hit the 40% off & the free shipping at MSC.
Last night, a tech recommended a CNMG-432M insert for a fine finisher. Not having the catalog in front of me, I ordered a box of ten. Dug the catalog out this morning & realized that a CNMG-431F would probably do a better job, and confirmed that with a different tech.
Worked with a really nice order rep, Elaine, at extension 5252. She issued the return authorization, sent a call tag, and got the new order processed. Then she asked if I might like a call each week with the phone-only specials. In all my years of dealing with J&L or MSC, no one has ever asked this. So she'll now call me each Monday, after 4:00 CST, to go over the specials.
If you need something from them, ask for her at extension 5252. She is quite good at what she does.
