hey guys just wondering if anyone can tell me a good candidate for my keys i would probably get a maglite soli i would like a lite that is widely available in the uk and is cheap

I would not get the Maglite Soli. Approximate lumen, around 1.5-2. Approximate runtime to 50%, 11 minutes.

Fenix E01, approximate lumen, around 5-7. Approximate runtime regulated 8 hours.

These are actual numbers for both the Soli and the E01.

If you want something closer to the Soli runtime wise, look at the Fenix L0D-CE Q4/LD01 on high. Around 15 minutes(a bit more) to 50% output but with an output of 60 lumen vs the 2 of the Soli. Even at lot output it still has around 9 lumen of output(over 5 hours of runtime on low).

The L0D/LD01 is only one example.

There is also the Liteflux LF2 and LF2X, Tiablo MA1, Lumapower Avenger, and probablu a few other AAA powered ones.

What price range are you looking at?
How much runtime?
How much output?
What battery?
What about multimode?(low output, medium output, strobe etc.)

There's also this if you want cheap. Runtime should be similar to the Soli but with a lot more output, probably around 50 lumen.

:welcome:

I've been thru lots of Mag Solitares (sp?) and have found them THE disappointment of the Mag line. Relatively dim light and not durable.
Battery Junction sells a small "squeeze light" that is light weight, durable and gives adequate light for fumbling my way from the car to the old house. And it is CHEAP.

arc aaa.
nearly bulletproof and long runtime.cheap to run.

I agree. I and my wife have had them on our keys for at least 5 years. We're on our second set. The anodizing after 4.5 years doesn't look so hot anymore. They got retired. And we now have the newer Premium models. I sent one of the older ones in for repair. It had a battery leak inside and the light would no longer run. I didn't expect full replacement, but Arc sent me a Premium model without asking. And the one I sent in wasn't a Premium. Now that's good service. Definitely made me consider buying the Arc6.

I carry mine on an old Berkley MiniClip, clipped to my key ring. That way I can remove it if needed, and not have to hold my keys while using it. It also makes a decent makeshift headlamp clipped to the rim of a baseball cap.

A pack of matches or a zippo would be more useful ;)

I have a Fenix E01 on my keys and it's great.
My wife has one attached to her Victorinox Classic SD SAK.
