Now that I'm EDCing my L0D-CE, I need a way to carry a spare AAA cell.

Any ideas?

The carrier must be able to loop to a keychain and be water resistant.

how about a small matches case like this? but I'm sure you could find one with a lanyard hole and that is smaller but i only looked for a sec :shakehead I'll try harder next time :p

One black l0dce and one natural sounds like a good combination.

Hello boosterboy --

Just got an L0D-CE myself, and was wonderin' the same thing. :)

Would like to carry a pair of Energizer AAA Lithiums (L92),
and certainly DON'T wanna' let 'em get WET ! :poof:

Thanks for any tips, folks. CPF rocks !

My suggestion, is actually to get a Liteflux LF2 with Seoul emitter. That one has a very floody beam (moreso tthan the L0D-CE), and you can program to it go to very low levels (as low as 0.2% output). It's also fully regulated and has battery voltage protection. Bascially, use the L0D-CE as your "shock and awe" light, and use the LF2 as a general purpose light for long runtime -- both on 10440 LiIons.

I agree. If you want to run ni-mh, you get a Jet-u (all flood, smaller on the keychain) as well as the LOD-CE.

ON second thought I agree with 2xTrinity, get an LF2, those are AWESOME on 10440...

The other option of course would be to swap it for a L1D, P1D/P2D instead - the larger battery has greater runtime if that is what you are wanting to achieve and no greater 'overall' bulk when compared to carrying a spare battery.

As an idea an Eneloop AAA is rated at 800mah - whereas the Eneloop AA is 2000mah - 2.5x greater.

The case you mention is also perfect for carrying two 123A cells, or one 18650.

AAA cells are difficult to find a small watertight case for. I use a "Benzedrex" inhaler that has been gutted after it was used up. I added a small piece of foam to fill the extra space.

These cases are also the perfect fit for a single AA cell.

Hi there,

Another idea is a small plastic baggie, with slide seal top.
This is for short term use because walking causes slight wear on
the plastic which will eventually wear a small hole in the side of
the baggie, but then you can use a new one when this happens.
If it's in a backpack even better, not as much wear.

Hey I think Peak Led Solutions has battery carriers. I think you're looking for a Matterhorn body with lug or keyring and a plastic cap that screws in to seal it. Their webiste is less than optimal but there is contact information on it. Send them an email or call them. They're usually pretty helpful.

It occurs to me that I'm using an old Princeton Tec Blast for all practical purposes as a battery carrier. This is a 2aaa plastic incandescent light waterproof to 1000 feet or something like that. It functions perfectly well and I edc it in my backpack, but I also have several led lights and haven't lit anything with the Blast in ages. However I've scrounged the battteries from it a few times, mostly for my mp3 player.

The Peak Matterhorn with the pocket body is *very* small and makes an excellent battery carrier. Plus you have a long running, rugged backup light in case you lose your LOD CE.

A purpose built battery carrier would only be some 3mm shorter than the Matterhorn with a pocket body.

The Fenix E0 is $20 and smaller then most everything else mentioned, and cheaper than a lot ot things mentioned as well.

I've used an old beatup original ArcAAA as a spare cell/backup carrier.
